About the project
The Finance & Middle Office (FMO) IT team is an integral part of HTC Markets & Securities Services. The team provides Global Regional and Global IT solutions to support critical financial and middle office business functions. These include strategic product / valuation control & reporting tools, accounting rules engines, integrated data distribution layers, shared data stores / services and capital / liquidity reporting engines.
Users: Front Office, Back Office
Back-end: Java 8 / 11, Scala, Python, Maven, S3, Spring, Rest web services
Your responsibilities
- Build maintainable software with quality, scalability and supportability
- Contribute to the strategic vision for building up the team’s development infrastructure
- Engagement in agile development project lifecycle
- Implement best industry standards in software life cycle management
- Interact with a large global team to come up with strategic solutions
- Troubleshoot defects and come up with sustainable solutions
- Keep up to date with current technologies to support a tier 0 bank wide STP application
- Provide support of the software on a 3rd line basis when needed
Our requirements
- Very good analytical skills and a proactive approach to problem solving
- Proactivity and drive to constantly develop and learn new skills
- Effective team player with excellent communication skills
- Solid experience in JVM ecosystem (preferred Java)
- Solid experience in implementing DevOps CI/CD processes
- Knowledge of storage technology (RDBMS, Object Store (S3), Key-Value (HBASE))
- Exposure to cloud concepts (i.e. GCP, PCF)
- Exposure to distributed system concepts
- Experience in data streaming pipeline such as Apache Beam or Apache Spark frameworks
- Proficiency in writing complex logic in Python would be an additional advantage
- Proficient in English with strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
