About the project

GEOS Support Engineers are software experts on a technical level with broad experiences on the entire securities services platform. It’s responsibility is divided in a deployment part and a support part. Within the support part, the GEOS Supporters provides user support for the securities services platform specific front ends (GEOS, MBS). The scope of the deployment part includes the deployment of all vendor sourced applications (incl. Middleware) of the securities services platform with GEOS, MBS and Raquest on all instances (Test, Integration, Parallel, Production, Project-specific).

The activities in GEOS Support requires the knowledge and skills of a zOS all-rounder who is expected to deal with GEOS-specific installation work, technical system support for the GEOS systems and technical user support in a complex zOS installation.

Your responsibilities

  • Coordination and scheduling with ITS process development for GEOS installations and production releases

  • Implementation and documentation of change management for the supported GEOS systems of all ITS deliveries (incl. update SQL and analysis SQLs)

  • Implementation and documentation of change management for other third-party software products in the GEOS environment (MBS-Open)

  • Technical system checks of the GEOS systems

  • Technical error analyses in the GEOS systems (if necessary, forwarding to GEOS DBAs, system programming or system management)

  • (Informal) first-level support in the event of GEOS faults / error messages (triggered by mail enquiries or telephone)

  • Second level support for GEOS faults / error messages (triggered by ticket system or mail)

  • Data provision for the ITS departments (e.g. one-time SQL, monthly evaluations)

  • Checking/releasing GEOS batch special requests after clarifying the impact on GEOS production operations

  • Maintain TuB-Order system

  • generate new DB2 structures

  • determine changed structures

  • inform developers of changes

  • Change business data

Our requirements

  • Profound knowledge on mainframe environments

  • Extended experiences on compiling, build and code review technics

  • Skills in source code management

  • Accuracy and attention to detail

  • Background of computer and/or database programming

  • Analytical skills

  • Banking industry or accounting functional know how

  • Excellent English language skills (verbally and writing)

  • Dealing with complex z/OS system environments

  • Experienced with OS390 / zOS, such as JCL, procedures, UTILITIES (ADRDSSU,XMIT,etc.), Beta92, Beta93, Jobsceduler (OPC /TWS)

  • Experience in DB2 (zOS), SQL, DB2 utilities, CICS and REXX

  • High willingness to provide support and be engaged regularly at weekends

  • Reliability, thoroughness and taking responsibility
