    Description

    This role is in the “Aura” team within Quantitative Strategies Technology (QST) Pricing&Services. Our team develops both middle-tier services and desktop applications using the F# programming language. We deliver a range of functionality under the broad theme of pricing engines and user interfaces for “front office” users such as trading and sales staff, as well as to support electronic trading in the Rates business.

     

    Over time, we are seeking to migrate functionality from standalone desktop applications to further middle-tier services and web frontends. We also work on replacing existing Excel based pricing platforms. This work is primarily undertaken in .NET on the Windows platform.


    You will be involved in the software process from beginning to end, from collecting requirements through to design, development and testing and then deployment and production rollout. You will have many opportunities to work on meaningful projects and make significant contributions to these important projects in Quant Strats Technology.

    Qualifications

    Key requirements for the role are:

    • You have strong programming skills in at least one major programming language.
    • You are able to communicate effectively in English.
    • You are aware of good software practices – automated tests, continuous integration.
    • You are detail oriented and possess analytical skills.
    • You have excellent level of numeracy and an ability to understand and implement mathematical concepts.
    • You are a self-starter with a positive personality.

    The following will be advantageous:

    • You have an experience with some of: WPF, web services, web development.
    • You are knowledgeable of the functional programming paradigm or functional languages such as F#, Haskell or Scala.
    • You hold a degree with honors in a quantitative field such as Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering or Physics, or equivalent level commercial experience.
