    Role Description


    Connectivity Services is part of the Group CTO organization within Credit Suisse and delivers global Telecommunication services in partnership with the firm’s strategic outsourced vendors BT and Swisscom (BTSC). Primary services include Data, Voice and Security Networks including Carrier and Telecommunications infrastructure. Organizationally, Connectivity Services provides Product Management, Network Engineering standards and regional I&O (Infrastructure & Operations) services across Switzerland, EMEA, APAC & AMER regions.

    A new team is being established specializing in Network Monitoring, Analytics, Tools and Automation. The team will be a critical function within Connectivity Services ensuring that associated I&O functions perform as expected, particularly as the bank transitions to new technology strategies such as Cloud and Hybrid IT.


    Key Responsibilities:

    • Lead the local team in respect to
    • Technical leadership
    • Book of Work (scope, progress, status, reporting & prioritisation)
    • Represent the team in local, regional and global forums
    • Day to Day functional and organisation management of the team
    • Lead, Develop and execute on a strategy for key Service Management functions aligned to the ITIL framework with focus on Network and Application Performance Management (NPM/APM), monitoring, Incident and Problem Management
    • Evaluate, recommend, deploy and operationalize supporting toolsets delivering the required monitoring and analytics frameworks
    • Evaluate and enhance reporting (including periodic, ad-hoc and self-service dashboards)
    • Support the goal to achieve efficiencies through automation tools and techniques. Develop a strategy to report on key efficiency metrics
    • Develop procedures to track, project or report network availability, reliability, capacity or utilization
    • Develop strategies, identify requirements and define specifications for automation systems
    • Participate and support troubleshooting and analysis processes
    • Provide advanced troubleshooting assistance and routinely collaborate with various CS teams on operational issues, projects and initiatives
    • Liaise with technical colleagues, vendors and product specialists to define and implement network services and products; with specific emphasis on the tooling, monitoring, operating, delivery and analysis features and functions

    Key Skills

    • Detailed understanding of industry solutions and vendors for network management and performance monitoring
    • Have a thorough understanding ITIL change/service management/Problem & Incident Management
    • Experience with any of the following vendors is advantageous:
    • Extrahop
    • Riverbed
    • SevOne
    • Cisco
    • Juniper
    • Bluecoat
    • Palo-Alto
    • Ability to interpret detailed network designs from standard documentation
    • Experience of network management by utilizing open source software programming
    • Experience of operation and implement Automation scripting
    • Exhibit and demonstrate the ability to provide performance analysis and recommendations across all network domains, products and services
    • Exhibit and demonstrate the ability to provide capacity analysis and recommendations across all network domains, products and services
    • Identify and produce network recommendations including technical options and cost benefit models
    • Experience using DevOps automation tools like Ansible, Salt
    • Understand concepts of IP networks (LAN, WAN, Security, Internet, IP Management)
    • Responsible for managing and monitoring the network infrastructure, analysing and resolving network problems, and continually improving the network and system infrastructure
    • Strong understanding of Netflow/SNMP/Syslog network management protocols and packet level capture tools
    • Internal communication skills at all levels – Technicians to Directors: Able to understand requirements at a technical level and effectively communicate requirements, risk and cost into business terms
    • External communication skills at all levels – Technicians to Directors: To be able to speak to vendors regarding detailed product and service information
    • Ability to operate effectively in large, complex, matrix managed organizations
    • Microsoft office (particularly Excel / Visio / PowerPoint - as a minimum)
