In Poland organization is present for over 20 years, having a strong market positions in home equipment market. The Company is constantly growing, introducing to the market new, innovative products and putting attention to customer experience excellence. Currently the Company is also planning to develop the portfolio on the Polish market and to strengthen their e-commerce presence in order to develop omni-channel sales.
Operations Director - Logistic, Technical service, PurchasingNumer ref.: Wrocław (hybrid work model is possible, with 2 - 3 office days and 3 - 2 home-office days)

The Operations Director ensures the provision of operational support to the whole commercial structure of the Company in Poland by making available the appropriate resources and continuously improving the operational support services needed in order to achieve the businesses’ objectives. He or she leads cooperation with 3PL in warehousing in transport, as well as manages an internal logistic, purchasing & technical service team of 20 people.

Main accountabilities and responsibilities:

  • Acts as a member of the Company’s management team
  • Develop and cascades Company’s strategy in order to support the achievement of business objectives
  • Defines and manages Operational Department’s annual budget in order to optimize service/costs and achieve Company’s strategy
  • Manages daily logistic, technical service and purchasing operations
  • Positions and develops the Operations Department into a true business partner to sales organisation in order to facilitate the achievement of business objectives
  • Is accountable for management and development of the Operational Department employees, in line with global HR policies, in order to ensure alignment with the needs and objectives of the company

Key challenges in the job:

  • Pro-actively addressing needs of the Company’s fast growing business, by development and professionalization of provided services to upgrade them to next quality level. Analyzing and refining existing processes, designing and introducing new ones, as well as implementing process metrics & KPIs.
  • Setting clear roles and responsibilities in Operations team and developing strong customer-centric approach towards both external and internal clients.
  • Establishing and developing in-house Technical Service team and smoothly transferring this line of services form external providers, to short-term sustain and mid-term increase quality and customer satisfaction level.

Characteristics of successful jobholder:

  • Has a strong understanding of the different functions under management (logistics, technical service, purchasing).
  • Understands very well business strategy, needs and KPIs and is able to translate them into Operations strategy, processes, structures and KPIs.
  • Has previous strong change management experience, is influencing and convincing, and assures that changes are understood and implemented in the organization.
  • Presents strategic orientation and skills, but is able and willing to act effectively on operational level and be hands-on, when it is needed.
  • Has a strong client-centric orientation and knows how to implement and develop it in Operations team, but also in the whole organization.
  • Can cope well with stress and stays calm & composed even in difficult, challenging situations, to seek for the best and immediate solutions.
  • Is highly cooperative and supportive. While focusing on delivering Operations support KPIs, is flexible enough to make sure that “customer-first” approach is not harmed.
  • Is constantly seeking for performance improvements in-house and with external service providers.
  • Can clearly set goals and priorities, and delegates tasks, but makes sure that they are completed in high quality manner.
  • Pro-actively develops subordinates competencies and skills, and motivates them to build strong effective and independent team.

Other profile requirements:

  • Higher education: in field logistic or similar
  • 10 years of experience in logistic / operations function, including 5 years of management experience
  • Practice gained preferably in retail or commercial organization
  • Experience in work in international environment
  • Strong process thinking, analytical & conceptual, as well as project management skills
  • Fluent English
