Your responsibilities
The Payroll Specialist EMEA is responsible for the overall operation of the EMEA payroll function (e.g. currently Switzerland, Germany, Austria, France, Sweden and The Netherlands), including payroll coordination and processing through third-party vendors. Additionally the Payroll Specialist EMEA supports the further expansion into new regions and compensation and benefits related topics.
As a Payroll specialist, you will support payroll activities within EMEA (currently 166 employees in Switzerland, 112 employees in Germany, 6 in Austria, 16 in France, 12 in Sweden, 3 in the Netherlands, 1 in the UK) according to applicable laws and regulations (with support of an external payroll provider), including:
monthly payroll processes
month-end close activities
year-end activities (e.g. various declarations, annual salary statements for Switzerland, Beschäftigungsbonus / Deckungsprüfung for Austria, Training & Apprentices Tax for France and Künstler Sozialkasse & Schwerbehindertenabgabe for Germany)
You will support the expansion within EMEA into new regions and the payroll set-up of new locations, ensuring all necessary requirements are met
You will manage social insurances, accident and daily sickness insurance, taxes
You will support the development, implementation and administration of compensation and benefits initiatives and the annual salary review process
Collaborating with the global Compensation & Benefits Team, you will support the rollout of the company’s equity plan within EMEA (taxation etc.)
You will actively work in reporting (e.g. vacation and overtime accruals, overhead costs, pay ratio), and provide key information to internal stakeholders
You will ensure data quality in the HR IT Systems and support the auditing of Payroll activities (e.g. SOX, OR, Social Security)
You will be a first point of contact for employees and respond to payroll queries in a timely manner and in a way that aligns with our values
You will proactively optimize processes and operations in order to comply with internal and external policies and regulations and improve our ways of working (state-of-the-art payroll processes)
Our requirements
Bachelor Degree in Business or Commercial Apprenticeship and further education in HR or equivalent
Several years of experience in the payroll and/or compensation & benefits field within EMEA
Experience in managing payroll activities across multiple EU countries and managing outsourced payroll providers
Ability to work independently and handle multiple competing priorities in a fast paced multicultural and rapidly changing environment
Good knowledge of employment law, socials insurances and tax regulations
Advanced Excel and reporting knowledge, Abacus and Success Factors is a plus
Demonstrates initiative and has problem solving mindset with hands on attitude when it comes to investigate and find solutions
Strong team player with hands-on mentality, service-oriented, analytical and detail-oriented working style
Maintaining and influencing the relationships with key internal and external partners
Must Be fluent in and English
