People Technology is a fundamental enabler to how we deliver an outstanding experience to our Discovery workers across the globe. As People Technology Lead, you will be responsible for the ongoing maintenance and optimization of our platforms, and will take a proactive lead in defining and executing our People Technology roadmap.
 
We are looking for an individual who is passionate about the role that technologies play in driving transformative change, has previous experience inleading People Technology functions and is in their element when working in a fast-paced international and dynamic environment.
People Technology Lead – Senior Director

Responsibilities
  • Leader of our People Technology function (a growing team of 10+ team members specialising in a number of disciplines including system configuration, testing & release management)
  • Partner with Discovery leadership and engage with other Discovery functions (i.e. Global Technology & Operations (GT&O) and Finance) to define and execute upon our People Technology Roadmap
  • Lead the maintenance and optimization of our People Technology landscape, continually identifying opportunities for improvements
  • Deliver large, complex People & Culture technology projects that provides the business with quality solutions in a timely and cost-effective manner
  • Oversee the release management process across our integrated technology landscape (SuccessFactors, ServiceNow, Fieldglass, PeopleDoc and other platforms). Oversee the planning and deployment of system upgrades and maintenance, including the scheduling of key activities and communicating of system downtime to appropriate parties, ensuring requirements are effectively met
  • Manage the portfolio of People & Culture technology projects, working closely with project sponsors and the Change & Evolution team to fully identify and articulate the technology change requirements and desired benefits in order to translate these into clear and tangible outcomes
  • Manage and maintain external relationships with vendors and third-party suppliers to ensure execution is managed with external insight and in line with external good practice
  • Work closely with our Specialist Teams and Business User Groups (BUGs) to develop system requirements and ensure configurations reflects business needs
  • Develop strong working relationships with our GT&O team to ensure a centralized approach to release management is maintained across Discovery
  • Promote a collaborative working environment in the team to support knowledge sharing and effective balance of team capacity and capabilities
  • Monitor and evaluate the performance of the team to create an enabling and engaging environment where individuals are able to meet objectives and maximize potential
Requirements
  • + 10 years of experience working with People / HR Technologies
  • Preferred +5 years of experience working as a People / HR Technology lead at a comparable global organisation responsible for overseeing the maintenance and release management of an integrated technology landscape
  • Previous experience working with SuccessFactors, ServiceNow HR, Fieldglass, Benefit Focus, PeopleDoc
  • Deep subject matter expertise in the area of People & Culture systems management and integrations
  • Preferred experience implementing AI / Robotics / Cognitive / Advanced Reporting technologies
  • Preferred experience working in a Global Business Services (GBS) environment
  • Strong presentation skills and stakeholder engagement skills. Ability to develop excellent working relationships with functions outside of People & Culture
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Experience of building, maintaining and managing strong relationships with stakeholder groups across different levels in organization
  • Highly motivated and self-starter, fast-paced with high level of energy and pro-active approach to work
  • Ability to communicate professionally, clearly and effectively to target audiences
  • Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines on multiple projects or tasks concurrently
  • Comfortable working with a global consumer base and different cultures
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken
