Your responsibilities

  • The main purpose of the Planning Manager is to formulate the Group Commercial Strategy in collaboration with the Buying Managers,

  • Directing the business (including direct reports) in the creation of commercially viable ranges, so that customers can buy what they need in Pepco;

  • Full accountability for Merchandise Budgets ensuring Sales, Margin and Stock Targets are achieved, whilst striving for continuous improvement;

  • Sales, Stock, Margin management and planning (through financial plan on category/department level, determining and agreement on the Strategic Plan Targets with Key Stakeholders);

  • Assortment management to ensure it meets the group strategy through e.g. determining number of options, width and depth of range, timing of inflows tailored to the consumer demand group;

  • Markdowns management by leading the process and preparing guidelines for particular sessions;

  • Promotions assortment management in accordance with the marketing plan

  • Close teamwork with Buying Director and Head Buyers, senior business leadership;

  • Management and identification of training, coaching and development requirements of subordinates;

  • The main subordinate product categories are seasonal products (such as Christmas and Easter time, Tourism, Gardening) and non-food FMCG;

Our requirements

  • Fluent knowledge of English – obligatory

  • 3 years Planning experience, preferably in retail

  • Team management experience,

  • Highly developed analytical skills,

  • Being goal-oriented,

  • Ability to make decisions and solve problems in a fast-paced environment.
