Your responsibilities

  • Apply subject matter expertise and understanding on a wide range of global regulatory matters, using enterprise tools to monitor the global regulatory environment for developments and ensuring regional teams are maintaining compliance with regulations relating to operational and resilience risks.

  • Oversee processes to respond to requests for information from regulators, schemes and key partners.

  • Acting as a centre of excellence in providing guidance on all regulatory requirements that need to be considered as part of an effective operational risk and internal control environment.

  • Lead on the ongoing ‘business as usual’ management of the chatbot tool (ORRA), ensuring new and existing information feeds are managed with appropriate governance and are accurate, up to date and concise.

  • Lead on the management and co-ordination of all resilience risk whistleblowing cases, ensuring discretion maintained throughout the process.

Our requirements

  • Subject matter experience in Operational and Resilience Risk regulatory requirements.

  • Experience in designing and leading policy frameworks.

  • Knowledge of regulatory environment in the financial services sector.

  • An understanding of Chatbot content management.

  • An understanding of internal investigations and the HSBC speak up process.

  • Remaining up-to-date on changes in regulatory/statutory environment at local and international level on Operational and Resilience Risk.

Global Operational and Resilience Risk (ORR) is a sub function of Group Risk. Its purpose is to make sure HSBC understands, and is in control of its non-financial risk position. In addition, the function provides resilience risk stewardship to global businesses, functions and entities we operate in.

Resilience Risk (RR) Specialists provide expert advice covering specific RR risk lens to ensure high quality advice, expertise and guidance is available across all of the risk types of technology (including cyber) risk; data and information security risk; third party risk; contingency risk; physical security risk; building unavailability risk; workplace safety risk; payments and transaction processing risk.

The RR Specialists operate on an entity-wide basis and must work closely with their RR peers, specifically, the ORR Business and Functions aligned roles to support them by providing RR technical advice and guidance for their consumption and use in delivering their respective relationship management remits.
