Your responsibilities

  • Variance and deviation log

  • Working closely with the Senior POMO Leadership team ensuring that each area is working in alignment

  • Develop and maintain good relationships with stakeholders within the Wholesale COO, supporting functions and compliance / risk

  • Actively support the Senior Manager, Policy & Procedure, Governance, Change & Implementation

  • Administration of POMO Governance SharePoint site (if applicable); including minutes

  • Be responsible for the updating of the record keeping system to track and record changes to Procedures and dispensation requests and approvals; (where tech is in place rely on this)

  • Coordinate dispensations and policy change requests ensuring they are completed in a consistent manner and providing feedback as required;

  • Ensure robust communication and alignment between different work streams and ensure that issues are captured and escalated as required

  • Actively interact with and influence colleagues globally to ensure a consistent understanding of the arrangements for distribution of new and updated procedure and for the process in obtaining dispensations / risk acceptances and variance & deviations

  • Monitor and address BAU issues raised to POMO for global consistency, provide an expert view on mandatory procedure ambiguities to Production SMEs/ other BAU stakeholders

  • Support the development of effective MI to monitor post-implementation effectiveness and any benefit realization

  • Responsible for the production of monthly MI on procedure tracker / dispensation and risk acceptances

  • Co-ordinate stakeholder expectations on Procedures and processes with procedural publications and communications

  • Extensive knowledge and experience of Policy / Mandatory procedures within HSBC

  • Exceptional organizational, planning and management skills including a prove ability to prioritize competing demands

  • Excellent level of negotiation, influencing skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, applicable through multiple channels (written, spoken, workshops, presentations)

  • Ability to articulate concepts pictorially or in whatever format is best suited to the audience

  • Influences and negotiates with Risk Owners, supporting partners and compliance/risk for to support in driving efficiencies through procedure review and challenge

  • Consults widely, frequently and early with a full range of stakeholders to ensure all relevant parties are brought into key decisions

  • Manages dependencies and proactively builds relationship that connect all areas to POMO globally and regionally

  • Understand, follow and demonstrate compliance with all relevant internal and external rules, regulations and procedures that apply to the conduct of the business in which you are involved, specifically Internal Controls and any Compliance policy including, inter alia, the Group Compliance policy

  • Fluent written & spoken English required

  • Education to degree level

  • Skills in Project management, documentation drafting required

  • knowledge of procedures and governance frameworks desirable
