Privacy Risk Management: Conduct privacy assessments and manage privacy risks. Develop remediation plans and support various stakeholders to address risks. Review privacy terms in third party contracts.
Privacy Culture: Provide consulting support to project teams and process owners. Develop policies, procedures, guidelines and standards. Develop training and awareness content and deliver training.
Privacy Lifecycle & Technology: Develop and maintain personal information inventory. Develop and periodically refresh privacy notices. Maintain privacy management technology platform.
Privacy Compliance & Controls: Monitor privacy laws and regulations and develop plans to address changes. Develop and monitor internal privacy controls.
Privacy Strategy: Contribute to development of McCormick’s privacy strategy and roadmap.
Privacy Operations: Develop responses to privacy inquiries from consumers, employees, and business partners.
• 3-5+ years experience as a data privacy professional.
• General knowledge of current and emerging global privacy laws and regulations, such as the EU General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR”), Canada Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (“PIPEDA”) and California Consumer Privacy Act (“CCPA”).
• General understanding of Information Technology (IT) and Security (IS) related environments.
• Ability to identify, assess, review, and prioritize current or future privacy risks associated with personal information processed by McCormick.
• Understands the value of privacy among different stakeholder groups (e.g. consumers and employees) beyond compliance with laws and regulations.
• Influencing skills are particularly important for this role to achieve McCormick’s privacy mission of embedding privacy capabilities across McCormick’s global operations. This role will interact with stakeholders across multiple functions and at multiple levels throughout the organization. Developing relationships across McCormick and being a change agent will be vital to success of the privacy program.

Privacy issues today are at the forefront as evidenced by the following examples: greater expectations from individuals around handling personal information, news stories about personal data breaches or organizations using personal information inappropriately, and governments increasingly introducing new laws and regulations related to personal data protection. This position plays a key role to navigate McCormick through this environment and contribute to McCormick’s privacy mission.
Decisions made by the privacy team and processes and controls implemented will impact the way employees, contractors, vendors, and other business partners will handle personal information on behalf of McCormick. This position will report to the Manager Data Protection and Privacy and will also work with IT Security and other IT teams to implement controls that protect the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of personal information.
This position will primarily focus on privacy activities, including consumer and employee, for the EMEA region but will have opportunities to support activities in other regions as part of a global team.
The Privacy Analyst is responsible for providing operational guidance to address privacy requirements and advancing desired organizational privacy behaviors as a member of McCormick’s Data Protection & Privacy Team. The primary goal of McCormick’s privacy function is to enable processing personal information in a manner that sustains the trust of our consumers, employees, and business partners and complies with applicable laws and regulations. Serves as a pro-active business partner working with cross-functional stakeholders across geographies to provide practical guidance and solutions.
