Your responsibilities
- Act as an expert Business Partner for management-level counterparts in BU Supply Chain Management on a strategic and tactical level specializing in a Logistics advisory and solution design role
- Conduct tactical category management of logistics spend, services and tender management for all modes globally (Sea, Air, Road & Intermodal) for the product category Bulk (dry and liquid)
- Accountable for achieving annual Logistics savings and value generation targets both towards internal Global Business Services cost reduction goals, as well as through realization of BU-relevant value-adding initiatives
- Act as a change agent to drive improvements within GBS Logistics organization or/and BU Supply Chain Management organizations
- Apply holistic Risk Management (conduct risk assessment, develop risk mitigation plans, drive and coordinate implementation) with respect to Logistics problem solving and solution design activities
- Recognize new logistics possibilities, solutions and market prospects, leveraging 3rd party contacts and bonds with industry specialists for future business solution development opportunities
- Collect, manage and control Clariant-led logistics related supplier contracts and price agreements as one wholistic Clariant Logistics supplier portfolio
- Identifies, develops and proposes corrective measures in case of Logistics supplier performance issues and/or KPI deviances
- Initiate and overlook master data management process and ensure accuracy of prices and routing information
- Permanent interface with Operational Logistics and BU’s stakeholders to ensure business continuity and proper operational logistics management
- Independently drive implementation of predefined Logistics strategy by interfacing and collaborating with GBS Regional Logistics, OtC Global Process Experts and operational SSC personnel
- Proactive issue management and contingency management, acting as a backup expert and problem solver for cross regional or complex operational logistics issues (e.g. consulting insurance cases) by interfacing with internal BU SCM and public authorities for high-profile escalation cases
- Review Performance Development in area of POD and logistics OTIF, define and schedule measures for performance improvement where needed
- Participates in BU logistics projects as well audits
Our requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree preferably in the Logistics domain and/or Supply Chain Management area (or equivalent)
- Minimum 5 years business exposure to global air freight, sea freight, road freight & courier services in an international logistics setting on a tactical and/or strategic level for a multinational company
- Logistics distribution network design & optimization project skills
- Proof of having successfully led major global Logistics service improvement initiatives and projects
- Profound experience in Logistics Category management & strategic procurement spend analysis
- Strong awareness of corporate compliance in the procurement domain in conjunction with supplier selection
- In-depth understanding of SAP SD (&TM) module & data extraction capabilities for analytical problem solving, ability to leverage SAP BW (business warehouse) analytical reporting
- Ability to work logically and systematically with a strong analytical problem-solving capacity
- Ability to independently develop creative solutions, solve problems and prepare decisions, as well as think laterally
- Advanced capacity to influence, persuade and successfully negotiate
- Reasonable understanding of business financials and business case development in conjunction with Logistics solutions & services
- End-to-end process understanding and thinking
- English and German working proficiency
