Your responsibilities
Identifies suppliers of services, products and equipment
Sends and tracks Request for Quotes (RFQ) for Prototype and Production using global sourcing strategies
Responsible for driving suppliers onboard for new programs
Negotiates prices, contracts, performance terms & conditions
Coordinates and facilitates supplier relationship with internal functions
Placing purchase orders in line with company strategy
Monitors supplier performance against the agreed level and takes action to resolve or improve areas that are failing
Plans & executes cost reduction strategies, payment issues, material returns
Scorecard analysis (and actions as required)
Keeping business system up to date
Inventory optimisation activities
Supporting projects & actions from other departments and any other tasks required to maintain the integrity of the Southco Procurement role
Our requirements
Language skills: fluent written and spoken English
Previous experience: min 3 years in Project Purchasing (Automotive Industry will be beneficial)
Computer literate (competent in Excel, Word, Powerpoint etc)
Very good communication skills to both internal and external customers (written and verbal)
Driving licence (B)
Organised and able to manage tasks with short lead time constraints
Previous knowledge of SAP (or equivalent ERP system) would be an asset
