Product Manager

Accountability and Scope:

  • Responsible for a team of Corporate Sales Analysts and / or Buyers
  • International customer and supplier base with internationally based internal customers and stakeholders
  • End to end bid sourcing and pricing of new and renewing business opportunities, including supplier identification, selection, pricing and submission to the Bid Management team
  • Annually this role will be involved directly with tens of thousands of part numbers in support of many hundreds of bids
  • Working within a global team to ensure timely, complete and compelling customer proposals are delivered to customers
  • Engagement with and knowledge of extended global supply base and market dynamics

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Know, understand and incorporate the Incora philosophy, values, vision, and Corporate Pricing strategies in all business behavior, practice and decisions
  • Maintain a strong understanding of Incora’s quality standards, product lines, pricing, and compliance requirements
  • Maintain and execute a strong understanding of forward pricing projections and bid multiplier rate analysis, reliable sourcing relationships, and ability to follow established product management strategies and initiatives
  • Meet, develop, and maintain strong, beneficial working relationships with Incora suppliers, gaining valuable market knowledge, as applicable
  • Work with the Procurement, Commercial and Sales teams to develop product price strategies, including segment strategies for the various markets and channels
  • Coordinate proposal development with the Sales teams to process contract bids (with minimal guidance), utilizing internal pricing analysis tools, applications, and strategies, on a bid-by-bid basis
  • Work directly with internal/external customers on a regular basis, providing timely, appropriate, and accurate responses to inquiries and requests
  • Monitor and track internal bid due dates and other bid requirements
  • Download, organize and review market resources, baseline price information and market trend data; to report inconsistencies and opportunities to optimize sales and profitability through adjusted price strategies
  • Where appropriate, conduct Product Training for new Sales, Supply Chain, or Quality employees
  • Review inventory levels and/or source vendors for best pricing
  • Prepare vendors Request For Quotation (RFQ's), as applicable to the pricing process
  • Ensure adherence to customer approvals and quality requirements
  • Ensure market changes, affecting relevant pricing information, flows down to sales blankets, base pricing and current open orders, when applicable
  • Maintain files for proposals, awards, contracts, contract amendments and other related documents
  • Coordinate information as needed with sales, purchasing, quality, and other appropriate departments
  • Continuously train and mentor Product Specialists, Administrators and Buyers with more complex contracts and issues
  • Participate in and practice continuous improvement and/or process improvement efforts
  • Actively pursue and develop a plan using Intranet tools and programs, sales training programs, self-assessment tools, and relevant training courses, to increase knowledge and proficiency in all job requirements
  • Attend or participate in Product Management or Sales meetings, as requested; attend company-sponsored meetings, training or events, as required
  • Participation in improvement activities at department/company level to enhance business performance

Measures of Performance:

  • On time achievement of sourcing and pricing deadlines
  • Part sourcing and pricing coverage within bids
  • New business opportunity conversion rates, e.g. value and number of parts and contracts awarded or renewed, new business margin, revenue and margin growth.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or 6-8 years related experience and training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Senior level sourcing, sales or corporate pricing experience, or relevant management experience within the aerospace industry
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate others to excellence
  • Demonstrated ability to present information or instruct in a professional and effective manner
  • Proven ability to analyze and produce profitable product management and pricing structures

Competencies and Behaviors:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with professional daily interaction with internal and/or external customers
  • Ability to analyze, evaluate data, and make sound procurement recommendations and decisions
  • Ability to reproduce established bids and prepare and evaluate new bids
  • Ability to maintain an effective liaison with vendors, management, staff, and co-workers
  • Ability to travel as required
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills
  • Clear and accurate data entry and documentation skills
  • Strong follow-through and perseverance to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Ability to build Customer Relationships - excellent customer service skills with the ability to deal tactfully, confidently and ethically with both internal and external customers
  • Ability to be detailed oriented and perform in-depth research, if required
  • Ability to be cross trained in multiple critical areas of the department
  • Strong competency working with integrated data systems, Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook and intermediate to advanced Word and Excel (i.e., spreadsheets, formulas, importing and exporting of files, as applicable) as required
