Your responsibilities

  • Work in accordance with the Group Procurement Operating Model, Group Policies and Standards.

  • Enable effective business partnership for SBU relative to role in line with business requirements, optimising security of supply, commercial agility, drives responsibly sourced sustainable value, which contributes to business profitability and cash flow short/medium and longer term.

  • Represent Procurement and facilitate the interaction between the JM team(s) and the supplier(s) on the global / multi-sites’ key direct raw material project(s) according to the defined category strategies.

  • Supporting the Supplier Sustainability Development Programme to ensure supplier complies with the sustainability and ethical corporate requirements and assist in managing supply chain risk.

  • Secure senior stakeholder commitment, drive and deliver NPI and cost/risk/innovation/value-based Product Change projects for the SBU and related Plants, developing excellent collaboration with Group Procurement.

  • Responsible for implementation and monitoring of Group Principle Risk #5 Supply Failure Risk Management (SFRM) plans within related SBU Product NPI/Change Management as directed by risk owner, Group CPO.

  • Contributing to the development of the Group-led category strategy by sharing program requirements and information with Category Leads and cross-functional teams. Developing, supporting and implementing all procurement strategic projects held globally.

  • Aligned to Group-led category strategies, support cross functional teams on the material selection with a standard Procurement approach (quality, total cost, delivery time, innovation, avoid single sourcing, promote standardisation); analysing the challenges and the needs on NPI project(s) or change management project(s).

  • Organise cross functional project kick-off and regular review meetings, recording minutes, ensure actions are completed, creating and maintaining accurate timing plans and coordinating lessons learn.

  • Implement cost reduction objectives and procurement quality related to action plan(s)/productivity project(s). Following Group Procurement processes in the NPI project or change management project.

  • Providing timely escalation to JM senior management and relevant internal customers on project time and supplier quality issues. Acting as first escalation level for supplier crisis management related to assigned projects.

Our requirements

  • Graduate qualification (ideally master’s degree educated),

  • Proven experience preferably in Automotive, FMCG and/or Chemical procurement of at least 5+ years;

  • Proven ability to develop Procurement profile as an authentic business partner in a global business;

  • Support the development of detailed supply market knowledge that drives category and supplier innovation;

  • Ability to operate and successfully managing variety of senior stakeholders across a global, complex matrix structure, as well as customers;

  • Excellent knowledge and experience managing product projects across a region or multiple geographies in chemical and/or automotive industry;

  • Good professional command of English language;

  • Experience leading and motivating people through change;

  • Strong analytical and qualitative skills;

  • MCIPS qualified or prepared to work towards qualification;

  • Ability to operate effectively in different cultures and across geographies, including managing stakeholders and colleagues remotely (across distance and time zones);

  • Strong influencing, communication skills and personal impact to gain credibility quickly with senior stakeholders;

  • Building and sustaining trust with stakeholders and the team through authentic relationships;

  • Considerable travel may be required from time to time.

Additional Information

Product Procurement Lead with project responsibility for managing and facilitating a cross-functional team on key direct material Product Change Management projects, to ensure flawless and timely implementation according to the project plan and customer expectations.

Represent Procurement in the New Product Introduction (NPI) process and support a cross-functional team with information such as material availability, pricing, supplier risk and need for alternative suppliers, whilst following procurement processes, ensuring the application of Group-led category strategies with key suppliers.

Enables the SBU Procurement Director to effectively partner with the SBU executive committee and Group functions in Procurement related NPI and Product Change activities that impact the SBU P&L.

Ensures SBU NPI and Product Change activities are in accordance with Procurement Excellence strategy, goals and Group Procurement Policy/Standards. Enables Group Chief Procurement Officer to effectively deliver Procurement Excellence strategy and goals at SBU.
