The Role

Product Stewardship (PS) IT is the central tool that enables product HSSE regulatory compliance for Shell. Compliance is critically dependent on the integrity of the data that are maintained in our IT applications. Failure to meet product regulatory requirements can result in fines and damage to Shell’s reputation.

 

The PS Systems Data Expert manages the data and report integrities of the Product Stewardship IT landscape. The role also offers the opportunity to maintain and improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the IT landscape. Due to its complexity, the role provides high-level challenges for someone who is skilled in databases (SAP and non-SAP) and wants to further develop their analytical and problem solving skills.

 

More specifically, this role includes:

  • Serving as expert for data-related aspects of Safety Data Sheet (SDS) creation processes and for the data design and the data integrity of the PS systems landscape.
  • Leading data-related issue investigation and correction within the PS Systems Issue Management process.
  • Organising and executing mass migration of data aligned with SAP standards and performs reports and analysis on data
  • Supporting data-related activities triggered by IT system changes and work process changes for SDS creation and other HSSE regulatory compliance such as REACH compliant procurement and substance volume tracking.
  • Generating reports for senior management, providing actionable insights into trends in hazard communication /SDS generation and distribution

Requirements: 

 We are looking for candidates with a background in IT and typically over 5 years’ experience, hoping to see as many following experiences as possible in your CV:

  • Skilled in using SAP, preferably the SAP Environmental, Health, and Safety Management (EHS) package.
  • Database design, data management and data migration techniques (SAP, other EHS management software)
  • Ability to investigate system table-structure and assess the cause of issues.
  • Familiarity with data content specific to the role: Hazard communication regarding chemicals and refined products.
  • Skilled in using PowerBI, or willingness to develop in this area.
  • Ability to balance need for detail against practical solutions within deadlines.
  • Ability to understand a complex data model.
