Your responsibilities

  • Delivering projects and support daily maintenance related to Axway Accounting Integration Suite (Accounting Rule Engine). The coding of rules is the transformation of business information (event, product, customer, etc.) coming from Source Systems into financial data for the financial platform (General Ledger, Management Data system, etc.)

  • Designing and coding accounting rules based on specific corporate financial policies and GAAP enforced by the organization

  • Making sure that appropriate documentation has been written and approvals have been gathered in order to launch new project to production environment

  • Partnering with IT and Change teams in order to deliver various system updates and changes

  • Collaborating with the Application / Infrastructure Support Team during change release

  • Working with Business Users / Application Owners / Finance change delivery / Finance IT for any business, infrastructure or application change to understand and assess upcoming changes

  • Coordination and governance of controls used in the system

  • Participating in UAT/OAT testing and application evergreening

  • Updating/maintaining process manuals and Standard Operating Procedures

  • Improving existing processes by looking for standardization and automation synergies to reduce manual efforts

  • Developing and maintain professional relationships with all business teams

  • Acting as a Subject Matter Expert for the process and deliverables of the project

Our requirements

  • Fluent English (French will be a surplus)

  • University graduate in financial, economic or information technology area,

  • Prior experience in Financial Reporting, Operational Accounting, Systems Support and/or Data Quality

  • Banking experience with good knowledge of investment banking and/or global markets

  • Strong knowledge of MS Excel, working knowledge of VB, working knowledge of SQL

  • Knowledge of Python and/or test automation tools would be an asset

  • Good knowledge of Confluence and JIRA

  • Understanding of Agile methodology

  • Strong analytical skills and proactive approach to problem solving

  • Methodical and pragmatic

  • Self-driven, ability to work with minimal direction / supervision once trained

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with a strong customer focus

  • Knowledge of Axway Accounting Integration Suite would be an additional asset

Job Description

The Finance Systems Operations (FSO) team plays a pivotal role in the upkeep of applications used by Finance users across HSBC Group. The team provides various services like Access Management, Reference Data maintenance, Exception reporting, monitoring platforms / system performance and also acts as a second line of support in resolving issues raised by users and provides training to users when needed on applications supported.

The FSO team based in Krakow is also heavily involved into the Change The Bank initiatives – smaller scale projects and large scale programs which gives the opportunity to grow the skills and experience in both Business As Usual and Change type of the roles.

We are currently looking for Senior Business Analyst - Finance Systems GCB5/6 to strengthen the capability of the team in supporting and monitoring the Accounting Rule Engine for Continental Europe.
