About the project

The Service Sustainability Programme (SSP) is a bank wide multi-year initiative with the aim of evergreening in scope services to ensure they remain supported by vendors. This ensures that Cyber vulnerability patches are available and that incidents are supported by vendors lowering the risk of cyber attack and impact of incidents that do occur.

Your responsibilities

  • Manage programme strategy and the programme approach across a series of projects or component activities, building stakeholder buy-in around plans, commitments and changes
  • Delivery, governance & reporting to stakeholders including the Portfolio Manager, Programme Sponsor and group
  • Drive the use of Agile methodologies within Technology teams (e.g. Scrum, Kanban, Lean) in line with corresponding transformation frameworks at the bank
  • Ensure Technology programmes align to HSBC strategies and contribute to towards achieving strategic aims
  • Ensuring that all Technology practices and associated tools are being adopted and adhered to within the Programme
  • Oversee programme budgets, including headcount and software delivery capitalisation
  • Manage the development and promotion of the technology portfolio and project management practices
  • Work to establish effective controls, procedures and quality assurance processes for the product in line with the HSBC Risk and Controls framework
  • Manage the reporting of progress, issues, dependencies and risks to committees and make recommendations to influence decision making in order to maintain progress towards delivery and benefits realisation

Our requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Project/Programme Management role on projects across countries or regions
  • Understanding of managing projects in Agile way; including working knowledge of Jira and Confluence, as well as best practice techniques
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and proactively
  • Experience with running meetings in English over video or teleconference
  • SAFe, PMP, MSP, Prince2 training or certification is an advantage

Additional Information

  • The WPB SSP Programme Manager is responsible for oversight of service remediation work including plans, solutions, finances and risk records. This role ensures with the assistance of the team that accurate metrics are available for the Portfolio Manager and Programme Sponsor to make strategic decisions and answer Senior management/regulatory challenges or queries.
  • The role is responsible for a large programme of work and as such previous experience managing multi-million dollar Global programmes would be beneficial. WPB is transitioning into a SAFe framework model and therefore experience and/or certification is desired.
