Project accountants will have a critical role to play and will be required to present a solid understanding of a business activities in order to properly administer and foresee the revenue & cost related streams flowing to nominal ledger through project activities. That means a thorough knowledge of billing and payment activities, underlying financial dimensions that impact the accounting entry as well as understanding of technical & other aspects of the project administration, reporting, forecasting and variance analysis.
Project sub ledger to GL reconciliations including variance resolution
Project Administration in MS D365 which includes but is not limited to:Creating project contracts and project links to project contracts
Assignment of appropriate project groups, financial dimensions, project categories
Setting up of project structures, planning, schedules
Ensuring the right project set-up resulting in a proper client invoicing & revenue recognition
Movement of Expense/Time between projects
Creating, validating and posting journals including intercompany journals
Monitoring the projects statuses
Closing projects upon ensuring that all related costs and revenues accounted for
Closing project periods
Becoming a Trusted Partner for Project Manager
Readiness to join a newly formed team in a finance operations department undergoing a technology transformation through the implementation of MS Dynamics 365
Solid understanding of accounting, in particular cost & revenue items as well as the concept of cost, revenue & profit centres.
Experience in SSC or BPO environment in similar role – ideally Project Accounting or General Ledger but may also be Accounts Payable or Accounts Receivable with good understanding of cost & revenue accounting
Experience in using ERP system with subledger segregation, ideally MS D365
Ability to build a professional relationship with senior stakeholders
Good prioritisation and organisation skills.
