About the project

The Managed Service Project Managers are responsible for ensuring the successful end-to-end delivery of some of our largest and most complex customer projects. These projects focus on the adoption of our next generation Trade Capture and Back Office processing platform, using a structured and controlled, methodology-based approach. In the Project Manager -II role you will be assisting our Senior PMs and Project Directors to implement these projects, often with specific focus on Test Management. You will have a pragmatic approach to solving problems and the ability to communicate effectively at a senior level with clients and internal stakeholders.

A further responsibility will be the establishment, refinement, rollout and maintenance of modernized delivery practices and procedures for delivery activities across the whole of FIS’s Post Trade Services Professional Services.

Your responsibilities

  • To gain an in-depth understanding of the post-trade business Middle/Back Office and to become an expert in FIS’ post trade processing suite of products in order to provide the expertise required to execute our projects.

  • Assists / shadows the PM in to develops, define and execute project plans, project scope, activities, schedules, budgets and deliverables

  • Responsible for managing a smaller low-risk project, or workstream of a larger project. This is likely to be a Testing workstream, defining and executing on runbooks, test case tracking and reporting, and defect management

  • Monitor the work of workstream team providing technical and analytical support and direction.

  • Coordinates activities and tasks among project team members, other internal departments and client or vendor/subcontractor organizations as needed to meet project goals and ensure project completion is on schedule, within budget constraints and of the appropriate quality standards for the project scope

  • Manages project risks, issues/problems and activity progress to ensure project goals, e.g., deadline, scope and quality are achieved. Assists with problem resolution or risk mitigation as needed

  • Serves as liaison between technical and non-technical teams, in internal organizations as well as in client and vendor/subcontractor organizations to ensure all project targets and requirements are met

  • Observes/shadows the PM on steering committees, project meetings to seek insights into why decisions are made and how issues are approached

  • Conducts project closure activities to formalize and communicate the project acceptance, handover documentation and ongoing activities to accountable teams and complete a post-implementation review to identify areas of improvement

  • Identifies project management coordination process gaps or areas for improvement, recommends and implements solutions.

Our requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, management information systems or business administration or the equivalent combination of education, training, or work experience.

  • PMP (Project Management Professional) an advantage

  • Knowledge of project management standards, processes, procedures and guideline

  • Knowledge of financial services industry

  • Advanced skill in the use of project management software to manage projects, e.g., MS Project and auxiliary tools, such as earned value database, audit tools, project repository, including risk,

  • Excellent analysis, problem-solving, team, conflict management and time management skill

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to interact effectively with executive level clients
