The person will be responsible for the preparation and implementation of the construction / reconstruction / renovation projects for the interior of passenger ships. The scope depends on the project - from steel works, installations, wall construction, finishing of partition walls, ceilings, floors - to complete equipment such as furniture, installations, decorative materials.
Job Responsibilities
- Coordination of interior design projects throughout all stages, from documentation analysis, project implementation and installation to financial settlement of the project
- Ship inspections - extensive global travel for work onboard ships and various offices (frequent business trips necessary)
- Ensure that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget
- Management of the project preparation team
- Coordination with purchasing and logistics department.
- Plans, supervises and tracks production of project material
- Manage the relationship with the client and all stakeholders
- Participation with preparation of custom furniture fabrication and interior furnishings procurement
- Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule and project costs
- Fiscal responsibility of assigned projects.
- Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation
- Progress updates to internal company management
- Works closely with the Estimating Department to develop project proposals
Requirements:
- Proven experience in implementing turnkey interior projects (preferred ship interiors)
- Bachelor’s Degree in appropriate field of study or equivalent work. (Architectural, construction or shipbuilding)
- Familiar with currently available shipbuilding finishes IMO etc.
- Knowledge of vessel regulatory agencies and agreements - SOLAS, MED
- Fabrication and design experience
- Ability to coordinate marine outfitting construction work
- Knowledge of AUTO CAD, MS Office, MS Project
- Good knowledge of English both verbally and written
- Negotiation skills, Independence, Availability
- Ability to manage a team and delegate tasks
- Experience working with time sensitive projects
It's nice if the candidate has:
- Experience in working on passenger ships
- Knowledge of issues related to electrical, fire, sanitary and ventilation installations
- Experience in interior design
- Knowledge of vessel regulatory agencies and agreements - USPH, DOJ ADA, USPG
