Purchasing Planner

Your responsibilities

• Place materials purchase orders/contracts in-line with supplier lead-times to meet multiple factory production plan requirements in SAP and Rapid Response system

• Ensure period of material cover is sufficient, whilst maintaining target inventory levels and optimal supplier price

• Maintain target stock levels within the factory

• Execute all cost reduction activities initiated by procurement, factory, etc

• Arrange delivery of materials with the supplier to the factory and where necessary resolve any logistics issues

• Explore opportunities for improved planning efficiency and placing of materials orders

• To work with the Production Planning team when a material shortage is identified to ensure the issue is resolved quickly with minimum impact to the factory

• Working with other teams and departments to implement the phasing in and out of new/old materials as part of a controlled process (achieving agreed deadlines with minimum cost)

• To liaise with suppliers on an ongoing basis to reserve production capacity (by providing material forecasts) to meet future supply requirements for multiple factories

• Support Procurement team in supplier invoicing issues

• Proactively develop the relationship with the supplier to improve service and performance and to optimize the business processes between the two parties

• Support Procurement team in supplier invoicing issues

• Deputize in the absence of the Area Supplier Manager for materials planning related activities

What are the key objectives and expectations from this role?

Purchasing Planner is responsible to ensure that the raw material requirements of the factories are met with no interruption to supply continuity.Work closely with internal and external stakeholders raising and expediting material orders to mitigate potential issues and avoid any production disruption.

Key role to ensure production continuity in the factory and avoid any out of stocks of finished goods in the End Markets.
