Your responsibilities

  • Credit risk methodology development within HBFR GRA team

  • Follow the global model standards when supporting model development, validation and monitoring.

  • Supporting AIRB model development, stress-testing, and IFRS 9 methodology development

  • Developing a good understanding of risk data flows from customer and product systems through to the finance and regulatory reporting systems

  • Translating and presenting technical work into more acceptable form in order to get the stakeholders' buy-in

Our requirements

  • Academic qualifications that give a strong background in quantitative analysis and finance

  • Fluency in written and in spoken English (Knowledge of French preferred)

  • Minimum 2 years of risk analysis experience (credit risk experience preferred)

  • Good exposure to credit model methodologies data requirement for AIRB and IFRS 9 modelling

  • Knowledge of AIRB/IFRS9 PD, LGD or EAD model development

  • Proven ability to take ownership of and solve complex data related issues

  • Strong database and credit risk systems experience including coding in SAS (or other similar tools), MS Excel/VBA, SQL

  • Good understanding and interpretation of regulatory rules

  • Ability to communicate technical concepts effectively

  • Ability to work as part of a team with key customers and stakeholders

  • Excellent documentation, presentation and communication skills

Job Description

Global Risk Analytics (GRA) is a global team responsible for model design and management of broad classes of financial and operational risk at HSBC. We are tasked with setting standards and providing mission-critical, cutting-edge tools to help identify, measure and manage risk, as well as enhance an enterprise-wide compliance across HSBC.

The role covers Wholesale Regulatory and Risk Analytics accountabilities within HBEU in relation to HSBC France. The job holder will need to work with finance, business and other risk teams in order to produce portfolio and impact analysis as well as UAT testing. Responsibility also includes implementation support for the proposed credit risk methodology and/or models.
