JOB DESCRIPTION:

State Street's Risk Analytics function is seeking qualified applicants to build a Quantitative Analyst team in Krakow Poland. The Quantitative Analysts will participate in model development activities within the wholesale credit risk (e.g., probability of default, loss given default, exposure measurement) and operational risk area.

Specific tasks performed during model development include:

  • Review of the methods for risk measurement used in the industry as well as proposed by academia.
  • Preparation of the data, and codes used to estimate the model.
  • Presentation of results to the business experts and senior management.
  • Cooperation with different quant and business teams.
  • Writing technical documentation.
  • Cooperation with Model Risk Management during model validation.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

  • MS or PhD in Finance, Economics, Math, Statistics or related field.
  • More than 4 years of work experience in a financial services firm on a quantitative analyst team or equivalnet
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills (in English)
  • Excellent quantitative modeling, analytical, research, and programming skills (e.g., R, SAS, Matlab, STATA)
  • Good project management skills, with the ability to work independently on multiple tasks and/or projects
  • The candidate must be able to take initiative and meet deadlines
