    This role has the primary responsibility of assisting quantitative development, validation and monitoring of the HBEU Wholesale Advanced Internal Risk Based (AIRB) models; however, there may also be work focusing on IFRS9 and stress testing corporate models in HBEU.

    This role is a unique opportunity to join a team of quantitative analysts at the world’s leading bank.

    Key Accountabilities:

    • Role has a challenge of converging to global model consistency  
    • This role, having a lot of contacts with the stakeholders must be able to translate and present technical work into more acceptable form in order to get the stakeholders’ buy in
    • Assisting team colleagues responsible for checking model data quality, monitoring, and reporting issues to the steering committees etc.
    • Role must have a very good control of data sources, model data quality, model development and an oversight of the model delivery.
    • Position is assisting the work of quantitative analysts covering HBEU AIRB model development, validation, monitoring and implementation. This work will primarily focus on the underlying data and systems.
    • Position plays an important role as a member of regional RRA team in charge of the whole Risk Rating System for the bank making the decisions related to model methodology, project planning and AIRB coverage for HBEU.

    Requirements:

    • Proficiency in manipulation of large data sets and excellent understanding of credit risk related data
    • Good knowledge of SAS data manipulation and statistical analysis is of benefit
    • Minimum 2 years of credit risk modelling experience
    • Desirable Masters level in Math (or equivalent)/Science/Engineering discipline)
    • Excellent communication skills and the ability to maintain close working relationship with related parties
    • Assisting to develop and implement the changes in process, including policy and procedure.
    • Good understanding and interpretation of regulatory rules
