Your responsibilities
Operation and maintenance of existing SOX and FCF deal control environment
Review and development of R&D and the Oncology and BioPharmaceutical central commercial units’ deal management database D-SOT
Work closely with Group Finance Deal Management team as they develop a new, group wide, control framework, modifying existing R&D Controller Group deal controls to align with the new group controls, and considering SOX vs FCF scoping levels
Further roll out of a standard control framework for entities managed by the R&D Controller Group, working alongside the R&D entity Controller, working closely with other AZ finance functions that support those entities
Control details input into OneGRC, and monitoring of compliance reports from OneGRC for all R&D Controls
Close liaison with the Group Financial Controls team (FC&CG)
Working with internal and external auditors, considering and incorporating their feedback into the controls landscape
Explore opportunities to enhance the R&D control environment reporting capabilities to meet future business needs and to drive further improvements

Qualified finance professional
Experience of working with SOX and FCF controls
Experienced working in both a complex global organisation and entity reporting
Cross boundary experience including building relationships remotely and cross-culturally
English Language proficiency is a must, both verbal and written, with the confidence to express clear opinions and ability to explain financial issues to non-financial management
Good understanding of accounting principles
Excellent PC skills including SAP, Excel and Access skills
A track record of continuous process improvement and delivering efficient ways of working across a complex global organization

Contract:
12 months contract/Secondment
Purpose
Supporting the R&D Finance Controls Lead, as a diligent controls specialist, you will be the actively involved with the CTCM process workstreams recording all control points and checks identified by the CTCM teams as they move into the implementation phase of the project. You will also be a key member of the team tasked with developing the full SOX and additional internal (FCF) control suite for all costs being tracked in CTCM.
You will work within the R&D Finance Controls Lead ensuring new financial controls are adequately designed and implemented across all AZ entities in a standardised way.
You will bring outstanding communication (written and verbal), strong financial control and technical knowledge (including SOX requirements/regulations) along with great influencing skills. You will provide practical hands-on support to enable the design, implementation, stabilisation and optimisation of internal controls. With support, you will be scoping, planning, coordinating and reporting on the design and appropriateness of SOX and FCF controls.
