Your responsibilities

  • Record, verify and execute transactions according to process documentation for General Ledger, Closing and Reporting.

  • Act as a Company Responsible and being main contact person for FA operational related topics for dedicated Legal Entity, including responsibility (participation/lead) for FO/AccP collaboration calls.

  • Prepare accurate, timely financial statements in accordance with Company Policy and IFRS.

  • Act as a Key User for specific area or tools (e.g. Closing, Reporting, GL).

  • Prepare and conduct process specific trainings.

  • Creation and update of SD.

  • Handling judgment based activities and support other dealing with it

  • Be a role model in decision making process and encourage others

  • Being up to date with local accounting rules

  • Provide accounting assistance/consultancy for Accounting Business Partner

  • Support in solving, follow up on issues and looking for solutions/improvements across team/department.

  • Cross team, cross process support in solving process related issues.

  • Engage in global process initiatives and/or expert networks.

  • Interact with key business functions (e.g. Controlling, Procurement, Product Supply, etc.) to ensure proper accounting for the particular areas of operation.

  • Interact with internal and external auditors ensuring prompt response to audit requests. Monitor and implement changes in ICS process, perform appropriate ICS controls.

  • Support optimization projects and continuous improvement initiatives in order to improve quality and efficiency.

  • Personal drive on high level - looking for improvements, motivating others, stimulating to act, to coordinate a group of key users.

  • Back-up for Junior Subject Matter Leader.

  • Support for Junior Subject Matter Leader, TLs, OMs in the definition of strategies related to the processes affected.

  • Monitor and contribute to achieve Service Levels of Accounting in collaboration with SSCDN.

Our requirements

  • University degree preferable in Accounting, Finance, Tax, Economics or relevant degree.

  • Certified tax advisor or accounting certificate - beneficial.

  • 4 or more years’ experience in general accounting, financial statement analysis

  • Very good knowledge of general accounting, IFRS.

  • Experience in SAP or other ERP system as beneficial.

  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office (esp. MS Excel).

  • Advanced level of knowledge of technical accounting, and financial reporting in a corporate environment according to IFRS and local GAAP.

  • Knowledge of German accounting requirements (incl. HGB)

  • Good level of experience with Bayer´s Financial Accounting IT Enablers.

  • Experience in conducting and preparing trainings and/or workshops.

  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills.

  • Excellent English language skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities with minimal supervision

  • Ability to work with a high degree of accuracy, initiative and reliability.

  • Ability to work through ambiguity and usage of sound judgement in making decisions.

  • Excellent communication skill and analytical thinking.

  • Good level of ability to establish and maintain a sustainable stakeholder network.
