    RC Assurance Assistant Manager
    Location: Kraków

    HSBC’s Regulatory Compliance Monitoring and Testing (RCMAT) programme provides ongoing, periodic monitoring and comprehensive testing for adherence to RC requirements. The bank’s RCMAT model will operate consistently in all countries to deliver greater transparency and consistency of the reporting of global RC risks. RCMAT Managers are a key Compliance role, responsible for coordinating RCMAT activity either Globally, Regionally or with in-country.

    Main Duties:

    • Development of the initial KRI Strategic Model in conjunction with GRA to demonstrate the value of this work and to feed into 2019 AOP;
    • Establishing the GSC which will also include recruitment of staff later on this year; and
    • Developing a Target Operating Model for RCMAT’s ‘business-as-usual’ data and analytics capability for 2019 and beyond.  This will include an assessment of which countries could benefit from local technical expertise as has already been established in the UK or which could benefit from regional GSC support.

    • The role holder will be the data lead for the newly establsiedh RCMAT data and analytics GSC. The GSC team will work alongside RCMAT supporting both the BAU RCMAT Review process and strategic build, and ongoing management, of Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) and automated alerts to identify out of the norm activity for further analysis.
    • Lead the continuing development implementation and improvement of the processes,
    • Establish and maintain a robust and efficient control environment to ensure good operational, financial and project management and compliance with HSBC policy and procedures, together with early identification and effective resolution or escalation of issues that arise.
    • Support the development, implementation and maintenance of management information, analysis and reporting framework that supports and informs timely and effective business management and decision making at all levels.
    • Support the implementation and oversight of RCMAT policy and governance frameworks, procedures, practices and standards to ensure quality, effective risk management and regulatory compliance.
    • Provide on-going consultation and SME advice on the regulatory environment
    • Implementing and upholding global standard processes;

    Requirements:

    • Strong inter-personal skills and excellent communication, dealing with senior executives;
    • Good working knowledge of RC requirements and risk-based monitoring techniques;
    • Understanding of HSBC governance, risk management and control frameworks;
    • Varied business and regulatory experience, the latter acquired via Compliance roles and/ or time with a regulator;
    • Relevant analytics experience in a complex organisation (e.g. banking, large financial services institution, Big 4 firm)
    • Role relevant qualifications and experience of using relevant software packages, i.e. SAS, SQL,VBA, Excel
    • Strong investigative and analytical skills
    • Delivery focused; demonstrating an ability to work under pressure and within tight deadlines
    • Experience of using visualisation software such as QlikView, Tableau
    • Knowledge of the GSM, Compliance FIM, Compliance Officers Handbook (COH) and the relevant sections of the Operations FIM;
    • Excellent planning, prioritisation and documentation skills are essential;
    • Enthusiastic, pro-active, self-starter with a drive to deliver high quality monitoring standards;
    • Effective and concise verbal and written communication skills;
    • Good knowledge of the English language and grammar;
    • A proven track record of quickly acquiring new skills and expertise;
    • Lateral, creative thinker with good problem solving and analytical skills;
    • Good quantitative and qualitative analytical skills;
    • High level of professional and personal integrity.
