Your responsibilities
Preparation of submissions and requests for information to regulators, including challenge and driving improvements where required
Provide the business with timely communication of regulatory engagement, priorities and other relevant developments; acting as a trusted conduit between the regulator and internal stakeholders
Proactive engagement on regulatory change across Wholesale and Traded Risk; providing regulatory advice and support to the business
As required, perform timely responses to all regulatory deliverables, actions and communications to key regulators while working with a large number of internal stakeholders
Provide strong support of all regulatory capital matters relating to models
Provide robust challenge to documentation compiled by the business to ensure it meets regulatory demands and is of a high standard
Our requirements
University graduate in finance, economics, banking, risk management, investment advisory or any other relevant professional degrees
International financial/risk accreditation e.g. CFA, FRM, PRM would be an asset
5+ years of experience in banking (e.g. Risk, Product Control, Front Office, Middle Office) or within rating agency, consultancy or advisory firm preferably with exposure to regulatory capital policy concepts
Good knowledge of the regulatory landscape
Experience of dealing with regulators is preferable
Some understanding of statistics and concepts of the risk modelling process would be advantageous
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (inc. Word, Power Point and Excel) is a must
Ability to successfully deliver within the agreed time scale in liaison with all relevant stakeholders: model owners, business, finance, senior management and regulators
Strong written and verbal communication in English accompanied by excellent presentation skills

About the role
This role is part of the Financial & Model Risk Regulatory Policy & Engagement team within Treasury Risk function and is part of the broader Global Risk Organisation.
The team advises on regulatory developments across Wholesale Credit, Counterparty Credit, Market as well as other Treasury Risks ensuring these are appropriately understood internally. It leads regulatory engagement with the Prudential Regulatory Authority (PRA) and ensures a credible and consistent approach with key other regulators. Furthermore, the team ensures HSBC’s voice is heard when regulatory change is under discussion, participating fully in trade association advocacy and putting forward its views bilaterally.
