Lead the Regulatory Policy & Engagement team within the near-shore Treasury Risk area in Krakow
Lead preparation of submissions and requests for information to regulators, including robust challenge and driving improvements where required
Proactively provide the UK based SMEs with timely communication of the book of work for the Krakow team, priorities and overall team management, training, staffing, overtime etc.
Maintain HSBC internal control standards and addresses internal and external audit points and/or any issues raised by regulators in a timely manner. Foster a compliance culture within the team, managing compliance risk and ensuring that the necessary training is completed.
Understand, follow and demonstrate compliance with all relevant internal and external rules, regulations and procedures that apply to the conduct of the business in which you are involved, specifically Internal Controls and any Compliance policy including, inter alia, the Group Compliance policy.
Actively participate and manage the rollout of new initiatives and deployment of skilled resources
Act as the escalation point and take accountability for the overall team managed
Manage timely response to all regulatory deliverables, actions and communications to the PRA and other key regulators while working across a large number of internal stakeholders. Examples of this may include: Traded Risk permissions / waivers / re-calibrations / extension of scope; semi-annual market as well as counterparty credit risk meetings; ad hoc requests for information.
Manage frequent dialogue and regulatory requests on a number of different subjects.
Cover a broad scope of risk types across Wholesale Credit, Market and Counterparty Credit risk including governance, controls and policy.
Provide strong support of all regulatory capital matters within the remit of the RPE team.
Maintain positive stakeholder relationships despite frequent changes in the external regulatory environment and while meeting the expectations and requirements of the internal business.
Provide robust challenge to documentation compiled by the business to ensure it meets regulatory demands and is of a sufficient standard.
University graduate in finance, economics, banking, risk management, investment advisory or any other relevant professional degrees
International financial/risk accreditation e.g. CFA, FRM, PRM would be an asset
5+ years of experience in banking (e.g. Risk, Product Control, Front Office, Middle Office) or within rating agency, consultancy or advisory firm preferably with exposure to regulatory capital policy concepts
Good knowledge of the regulatory landscape particularly relating to the Basel framework, regulatory capital, risk governance and/or capital models
Experience of dealing with regulators is preferable
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (inc. Word, Power Point and Excel) is a must
Ability to lead, manage a challenging book of work, proactively allocate resource and conflicting priorities and successfully deliver within the agreed time scale in liaison with all relevant stakeholders.
Strong written and verbal communication in English accompanied by excellent presentation skills to brief senior management on regulatory topics and summarize key information.

About the role
This role is for a Krakow team lead supporting the global Financial & Model Risk Regulatory Policy & Engagement (RPE) team within Treasury Risk function, and is part of the Global Risk Organisation.
The team advises on regulatory developments across Wholesale Credit, Counterparty Credit, and Market Risks within the Basel prudential framework. It leads regulatory engagement with the Prudential Regulatory Authority (PRA) and ensures a credible and consistent approach with key other regulators. Furthermore, the team ensures HSBC’s voice is heard when regulatory change is under discussion, participating fully in trade association advocacy and putting forward its views bilaterally.
