The newly created Dioscuri Centre for RNA-Protein Interactions in Human Health and Disease at the International Institute of Molecular and Cell Biology (IIMCB), Warsaw headed by Dr hab. Gracjan Michlewski is inviting applications for a Research Specialist funded by NAWA PP PPN/PPO/2020/1/00006/DEC/1 “Regulation of microRNAs for the treatment and understanding the etiology of Parkinson’s disease”.
 
As a Research Specialist you will be participating in discovering cellular pathways and RNA-binding proteins that control the biogenesis of neuronal microRNA (miRNAs), implicated Parkinson’s disease (PD). You will be responsible for high-throughput screening for small molecules that augment miRNA levels, usually depleted in PD, with the aim to use them as lead compounds in the treatment of PD.

Requirements for the candidate:

  1. Holds BSc or MSc degree in pharmacology, chemistry, biochemistry or related discipline
  2. Has previous lab experience.
  3. Knowledge of high-throughput screening and/or imaging is highly desirable but not essential
  4. Has excellent interpersonal skills, initiative and ability to work independently and in a high-performance team
  5. Displays high motivation and enthusiasm towards work

We offer:

  1. Full employment contract initially for 6 months and extending to maximum of 4 years after initial period
  2. Gross monthly salary* 5020 PLN (* Additional bonuses such as the 13th salary after working for the institute for six months in a given calendar year, or Christmas bonus may supplement this salary)
