    About the job

    Citrix Engineer will provide responsive, professional and competent technical support for various server systems and their operating system software.
    The role holder works with little supervision and is relatively self-sufficient acting with some depth of specialization in supporting a set of products, systems to help maintain the availability of the IT service experienced by end users.

    Responsibilities:
    • Technical Capability. Works within a team with little supervision as an established systems/product specialist (e.g. detailed knowledge of the configuration of interlinked systems, implementing technical changes, building software regimes and contributing technically to service development) to support end users.
      • Takes ownership around queries in regards to customer’s systems.
      • Recognizes and reports opportunities to TM and other relevant parties for additional business.
    • Process. Follows established processes, releasing to the change control process verified, validated and documented enhancements to eliminate problems and proactively develop the service. Recommends improvements as appropriate to resolve enquiries, issues or problems. Documents actions taken for continuous service improvement.
    • Problem Solving. Takes ownership of issues identified. Listens understanding the problem in order to find optimal solution or temporary workaround. Escalates and/or gains support where necessary to resolve the problem.
    • Service Level. Escalates issues as necessary to deliver required service level and meet or exceed customer expectations/SLA.
    • Team Working. Acts as an effective and helpful member of the team, demonstrating personal leadership, initiative and drive.
    • Project Work. Works within the team or under guidance from the project manager with implementation of technical designs to meet service delivery requirements within own area of responsibility.
    • Customer Relationship. Establishes working relationships with customer’s organization to deliver and enhance the service.

    Requirements

    Good Proficiency in Verbal and Written English including Technical Vocabulary

    Good knowledge of Virtualization Technologies such as:
    • Citrix; XenServer, XenApp, XenDesktop;

    Intermediate Knowledge of Server Operating Systems such as:
    • Windows Server 2008R2/2012R2

    Additional technologies such as will be an asset
    • AppSense
    • Active Directory
    • Server Hardware
    • Networking
    • SCCM, SCOM

    Excellent communication – ability to communicate clearly with customers, colleagues and managers.
    Excellent problem solving – ability to fix issues, being resourceful, and not giving up easily
