Your responsibilities
End-to-end network routing
The job holder builds the end-to-end network routing by using forecasts and utilization reports from FDX and TNT. The Industrial Engineer has a solid overview of the end-to-end network routing, including all systems and stakeholders involved. He/she executes complex initiatives within P&E and related functional areas. This may include participating in cross-functional teams of senior managers and professionals.
By steering the team and co-ordinating efforts, plans and recommendations are implemented in order to achieve optimal results for the business. This includes translating raw business requirements into practical business proposals and leading them into the implementation phase. The job holder uses established methods to make accurate and timely updates to the different road network systems in order to optimize costs and increasing service delivery performance. He or she also provides technical expertise & ongoing support to Road Network Analysts when required.
Network Engineering
The job holder drives the network (capacity) planning by developing relief plans (sub hub development), peak and contingency plans, network development plans, etc. He/she uses defined methods and tools to audit systems information and ensure ongoing integrity and compliance.
System & process implementation
The job holder can successfully execute medium complex projects that aim to develop and/or implement new or enhanced systems, processes, procedures and controls that enable effective management of network plans. This includes European or Regional initiatives in line with the scope of the Manager.
End-to-end ROCS plan cycle
The job holder balances the network schedule based on expected fluctuations due to public holidays, driving restrictions, seasonal influences, arrival pattern changes, loose/ pre-load options etc. He/she supports the tactical capacity planning by developing tender requirements. He/she develops an integrated approach in terms of public holiday planning and enables integrating the international and domestic road operations within the region.
Our requirements
Master’s Degree in engineering or quantitative discipline.
Proven analytical skills in logistical business environment.
Good communication skills: ability to communicate and present at all levels within the organisation both written and verbal in native and English language.
Good stakeholder management skills.
Ability to set priorities, develop a work schedule, monitor progress towards goals and track progress.
Analytical thinker with a creative and pragmatic approach to problem solving.
Advanced use of Office applications (Excel, Word & PowerPoint).
Flexible, no nine-to-five mentality including ability and willingness to travel for up to 50% of the time.
Result and target oriented, flexible approach towards work.
Responsible and taking ownership of decisions, i.e. accepting accountability.
Working in an international team with international colleagues.
1-10 years’ experience in (Express) transportation and 1-5 year experience in planning and engineering.
Solid knowledge of the current road network & systems is an advantage.
