Within Sanoma Learning (SL), the Technology department is responsible for the digital strategy, innovation and digital transformation as well as for the automation of business processes. Technology focusses on supporting the Sanoma Learning companies while leveraging synergy. This is done by developing common services and technology assets. To support us in realizing our ambitions we are looking for a SAP FiCo Consultant to be hired in one of our companies – Nowa Era.

The SAP FiCo Consultant successfully contributes to the deliverables of the Finance and Reporting (FiRe) team of Sanoma Learning. They play an important role in improving business processes and IT services. The SAP ECC system of Sanoma Learning is used by five business units, located in Poland, Belgium, Finland, Netherlands and Sweden.

The SAP FiCo Consultant will be part of an Agile/ Scrum FiRe team. The team is part of an agile release train and works according the SAFE methodology.

Your responsibilities

  • Work in an international environment with multiple business units;

  • Support of SAP system users (incidents, requests, problems);

  • Day-to-day system monitoring and maintenance;

  • Be responsible for developments in the FiCo area;

  • Understand business requirements and provide the optimal solution;

  • Aim at using standard SAP and reaching synergy in functionality for the business units;

  • Give feedback on business requirements and advise on alternatives;

  • Take care of customizing settings, make sure ABAP and integration consultants know what to do;

  • Involve key-users in solutions being realized. Support end-to-end testing of the solution and training of key-users;

  • Create documentation regarding completed functionalities;

  • Support the go-live of functionalities and the handover to operations;

  • Suggest opportunities for improvements;

  • Work in a distributed team (Poland / The Netherlands / Finland).

Our requirements

  • SAP modules, in particular FI, CO, PS, Fixed Assets;

  • Integrations from these areas to other SAP modules e.g. SD,MM and eventually BW and BW4Hana;

  • Experience in at least one SAP implementation project

  • Business process analysis in Finance settings

  • Basic understanding of support processes and tooling (Atlassian Jira, Confluence).

  • Fluent written and spoken English

  • Highly developed communication skills

  • Organizational and analytical skills

  • Strong team player

  • Experience in working in an international and distributed team


  • Agile Scrum and preferably SAFE will be an advantage.
