Our industry-leading Security Operations Center (SOCC) protects our customers 24/7 against the growing threat of cyber-attacks and cyber-terrorism. Partnering with other technical services teams we detect and mitigate attacks and help customers manage their online presence. We are the world leader in Distributed Denial of Service mitigation.
Partner with the best
You will engage in critical network and attack-related events for our customers. As frontline defense, you will take ownership of our central alerting system, detecting and mitigating the impact of attacks. In this fast-paced environment your exceptional support to customers will impact the future of the customer’s and Akamai's business.
Your responsibilities
- Engaging in mitigation techniques to prevent vector attacks
- Performing advanced packet analysis to identify attacks and threats to our network
- Managing and documenting technical issues, responses and requests to ensure information is recorded and updated
- Providing support to customers to remedy and resolve network and connectivity issues
- Communicating with customers regarding challenges and providing updates and results on your mitigation and analysis
- Innovating around tooling development & product enhancement.
Our requirements
- Have relevant customer facing experience within a technical support or consulting environment
- Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of how the Internet works, including hands-on experience with DNS, HTTP, TCP/IP/UDP protocols
- Show expertise in security technologies, processes and concepts, security event management and real time traffic analysis.
- Possess great communication skills including ability to explain complex technical content in English to global partners
- Demonstrate knowledge of common OWASP top 10 and how they relate to internet services compromise or attacks
- Have passion and ability to learn new tools and technologies and problem solve

- Please mind that this role will work on rotational night shifts – for a total of 4 nights on and 3 off (40 hours per week). In general, this will include night hours during specified weekdays and one weekend night each time. The hours will be discussed with candidates during the phone interview part of the process
