Your responsibilities
- Lead the team of 4 data quality and visualization developers
- Conceptualize and oversee development of analytical solutions to provide insight into data quality, data ingestion controls and trend analysis
- Oversee development, implementation and maintenance of data collection systems for data analytics that optimizes effective data management and data quality
- Provide guidance in space of data quality measuring and monitoring techniques and tooling
- Collate, test and check independently sourced data and assess its robustness and fitness for purpose.
- Prepare effective material for dissemination to key business stakeholders at all levels of seniority.
- Review results produced by the data quality and controls process and ensure their timeliness, accuracy and reasonableness
- Effectively manage relationships with diverse functions and businesses
- Work with management to prioritize business and information needs
- Encourage and drive process improvement opportunities
Our requirements
- 7+ year of relevant experience in similar job profile
- People management experience
- Bachelor’s degree IT or in numerate subject, e.g. mathematics/ statistics/ economics; Master’s degree preferred.
- Preferable knowledge of banking Retail/Wholesale credit risk
- Strong technical knowledge with any of these: SAS, SQL, Cloudera Big Data, Python
- Proven ability to manage high volume data with embedded data quality procedures
- Proven ability to produce clear summaries and reports from complex information, including both written documentation and graphical material
- Excellent communication skills with technical (the team) and non-technical (senior entity management around the globe) counterparts; being able to "translate" between the two worlds
- Good organizational, analytical, problem-solving and project management skills

Global Risk Analytics (GRA) is a part of HSBC’s Global Risk & Compliance Function which provides solutions using analytics, tools, and models to identify, measure and manage key risks. GRA currently covers Wholesale Credit and Market Risk, Financial Crime Risk, Regulatory Compliance and Operational Risk.
GRA is focused on model development, design, documentation and testing. We are responsible for the ongoing model monitoring, performance testing and maintenance of model inventory. Our scope also includes strategy, governance and processes for risk modelling. Our mission is to develop, manage and maintain models used by the relevant business groups and risk functions.
The Opportunity:
The role within Data & Reporting team supports various analytical projects for the GRADE (Global Risk Analytics Data Environment) platform. The data provided by Data & Reporting team forms the basis of model development, model validation and model monitoring for WCR (Wholesale Credit Risk) across HSBC. The team caters to both strategy and operations aspect of managing risk data through a combination of the following activities:
- Data ingestions from numerous internal and external data sources
- Data quality measurement, monitoring and visualisations
- Wholesale Credit Risk peer benchmarking
- GRADE Platform development and support and user on-boarding
- Risk reporting to internal and external stakeholders
We work closely with various teams across the globe on risk data BAU activities and projects.
