AstraZeneca’s Finance function is on a transformation journey with the objective of delivering excellence in financial operations and insight.  A new operating model is being established for AZ Finance, which includes the establishment of a new organization, Global Finance Services. GFS provides services for FP&A, Record to Report, Controlling and Tax to customers in Commercial, Science, Operations & Enabling Functions and Group Finance.  The EMEA hub is being created here in Warsaw.

Role purpose

This role is responsible for leading and managing a team, comprising approximately 6-7 analysts, that will provide forecasting, reporting and analysis of Manufacturing/Inventory process to AZ Management within FP&A and Record to Report to a specified business function. You will be the subject matter expert and point of escalation for your team and support them in both their day to day activities and personal development.

The Senior Business Analyst (Team Lead) will:

  • Be responsible for the management of a team of Business Analysts and for the service delivery of the team
  • Develop career path and opportunities for key talent
  • Collaborate closely with Ops Finance GPO and Planning & Management Reporting Global Process Lead in implementing policies & standards
  • Lead planning activities at Site and Regional levels (Inventory focus), with multiple stakeholders and counterparts
  • Key contact for ‘external’ projects impacting Manufacturing/Inventory area
  • Work with the wider AZ business to ensure compliance to the agreed finance processes and standard model for GFS delivery
  • Drive for continuous improvement and standardization of the process in charge in collaboration with the GPO and Business counterparts
  • Establish a cultural environment which promotes transparency and empowerment instilling a strong customer service and high-performance culture
  • Ensure alignment of strategy with the business / finance needs of the key customers

Essential criteria

  • Recognized Financial Qualification
  • At least 6+ years professional experience working in Manufacturing/Inventory area having practical knowledge about E2E process
  • At least 2 years of Team Management experience
  • Ability to drive and manage change
  • Ability to think strategically and work with peers to create solutions for the Enterprise
  • Self-motivation and a commitment to team work are key
  • A strong leader with excellent communication skills
  • Fluency in English

Desirable criteria

  • Good knowledge of finance transactional processes
  • SAP and Hyperion/HFM knowledge
  • Living and working experience in different cultures
  • Working experience in Shared Service Organization
  • Experience of working in Pharmaceutical industry
