Your responsibilities

Credit Risk Management is seeking a team member for its Investment Bank Portfolio Management team to support credit risk management activities such as identifying, measuring & monitoring portfolio risks and undertaking the Pillar 2 capital adequacy assessments (ICAAP).

The successful candidate will have responsibility for the oversight of key processes, including:

* Execution of the ICAAP process in Credit Risk areas, including assessing risks and quantifying them

* Developing and maintaining the methods & tools used in the relevant assessments in the team, including the management of model risks arising from these

* Help with preparing materials for monthly credit risk committee meetings, including preparation of standard and ad-hoc reporting materials, and helping with coordination of agenda

* Preparation of escalation reporting including commentary on key risks on behalf of CRM to senior risk management committees

* Providing insights into the credit portfolio for senior managers and committees in the risk organisation

* Supporting management of the credit risk frameworks and tools, including calibration of portfolio relevant limits linked to business strategy and entity capital/earnings

* Supporting risk identification exercises, including a review of market/business trends that may lead to emerging risks. This includes the preparation of deep-dive portfolio reviews

* Supporting other Investment Bank portfolio management activities to promote harmonised approaches across regions

Credit Suisse’s Credit Risk IB Team (also referred to as Credit Risk Management or “CRM”) partners with key business partners throughout the Bank to meet business demands and an evolving regulatory environment. The team establishes internal credit ratings and counterparty limits for the portfolio, and manages the overall credit risk in the division and key entities. CRM’s mandate is two-fold: Loan Underwriting / Transaction Approval - initial review and approval of loan and traded product exposure; and Portfolio Management - ongoing monitoring (quarterly / annually) of loan and traded product exposure on CS’s books.

Our requirements

  • University degree. A degree in an analytical field (Banking, Finance, Accounting, Engineering, etc.) would be an advantage

  • Experience of portfolio level credit risk management, an understanding of credit capital, and relevant capital assessments such as ICAAP, or regulatory credit stress testing (e.g. EBA, PRA)

  • Experience in a supervisory role, preferably in the area of credit risk management

  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills, ability to manipulate large amounts of data

  • A control-focussed mindset, with the ability to identify opportunities to improve controls and processes, and to work with other teams to implement these improvements

  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills in English

  • Highly motivated individual with an organised approach to work, able to manage multiple partners and meet deadlines. Demonstrate the highest levels of conduct and ethics
