Senior Finance Analyst Numer ref.: 133648
Location: Poland
This is a broad, cross-functional role which will involve interaction with all aspects of the business to ensure that local and statutory obligations are highlighted and met. The person who undertakes this role must have the capacity to work autonomously, while demonstrating a high level of curiosity and technical competence. They must be able to build strong relationships and influence others.
Responsibilities:
- Review statutory accounts to ensure they comply with the relevant Polish (“local”) requirements, check consistency and accuracy by partnering closely with the Financial Accounting team and undertaking relevant analysis (e.g. periodic balance sheet reconciliations/reviews)
- Provide support on various tax audits, including the collation & analysis of data from various systems (e.g. Oracle, etc.)
- Undertake ad hoc reviews and analysis for other areas of the Tax function (e.g. VAT, WHT, property tax, etc. issues)
- Review and analyse data for the preparation of local transfer pricing files
- Support Country Controllers and Tax management on a variety of local and European projects
- Provide assistance on the overall tax compliance process by verifying local accounting/other requirements (e.g. non-routine transactions, etc.)
- Work closely with the Financial Accounting team to support the period close process, for both US and Polish accounts. Undertake relevant analysis and provide appropriate advice/insight for the local market
- Prepare corporate tax returns and manage the CIT payment process for respective countries
- Year-end US GAAP tax reporting analysis and preparation of tax workings for statutory accounts
- Oversee the preparation of statistical/other local reporting
- Periodic completion and coordination of Sarbanes Oxley schedules for the relevant counties in scope
- Ensure that internal controls for Tax department processes remain robust
- Build and maintain a strong understanding of the TJX business, by showing deep curiosity, to ensure that actions/decisions taken locally are appropriate
- Provide support to the local distribution centre and store operations teams on projects, taking the lead where necessary
- Work with Country Controllers to manage key external relationships with local tax authorities, the Finance Ministry, auditors and advisors
Requirements:
- Graduate qualified accountant or similar
- Strong analytical skills and systems knowledge
- Ability to work independently
- Excellent commercial acumen
- Ability to effectively prioritise workload and meet deadlines
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Retail experience desirable but not essential
- Required Languages – English, Polish (High Fluency / Proficiency)
- ACCA/ACA Certificate or similar is desirable
