Senior Finance and Accounting Specialist

Your responsibilities

• Overseeing finance and accounting operations for zooplus entities in Poland and the Czech Republic and ensuring their smooth and timely execution in accordance with accounting principles, corporate policies and audit guidelines

• Managing day-to-day accounting, invoicing, cash management, travel and employee expenses reimbursement, ensuring that all expenditures are approved in line with company procedures, completing, organizing and describing accounting documentation in accordance with the guidelines, payments supervision and ensure timely payment

• Overseeing the monthly financial close process, including ensuring all costs incurred are properly recorded, account balance reconciliations, resolving discrepancies and clarifying open items and supporting report preparation

• Close cooperation with external accounting service provider and HQ finance and accounting teams, including analysis and reconciliation of accounts, monthly and quarterly reporting of results into group statements

• Cooperation with internal and external auditors to ensure successful audit results and compliance

• Active participation in strategic accounting projects including developing/establishing of accounting policies and procedures, setting up new processes, developing budgets, implementing/developing of SAP software – setting up processes, preparing requirements, testing and reporting irregularities

• Actively review and advise on financial/accounting processes and providing in-depth analysis of identified accounting related issues, implementing changes

• Being the first point of contact for issues related to accounting, invoices, travel expenses, employee expenses reimbursement etc. to the employees, counterparties, authorities etc.

• Conducting and updating inventory of assets and equipment

• Keeping relevant records and ensure they are up to date

• Providing other administrative and accounting support and supporting additional projects whenever necessary

• Keeping up with current accounting regulations, company policies and procedures in accounting and finance area.
