Your responsibilities
Build data pipelines and related services / systems and contribute to a modern data mesh architecture
Agile development of highly sophisticated, cloud-based web applications
Focus on the data engineering part, but also create backend and/or frontend development stories
Ensure code quality, system availability, security, performance, scalability and reliability in the long term
Improve the system with new methods and technology
Take responsibility with your team colleagues end-2-end for your software product
Work closely together with the business unit and other teams
Our requirements
+2 years of experience as a big data or data engineer with Apache Hadoop (Spark, Kafka, NiFi, Airflow, Zeppelin, HBase & Hive, …)
+5 years of experience in developing and operating distributed web applications with Java and/or JavaScript, REST and microservices
Strong understanding of event streaming, different types of data architecture, SQL and NoSQL databases
Knowledge of and hands-on experience with machine learning technologies and methods
Knowledge of and hands-on experience with test automation, CI/CD pipelines and container technologies
Experience using and running software on cloud services like AWS, Azure or Google Cloud
You are a continuous learner and like to pass on knowledge
Ability and desire to think outside of the box
You are open and have an agile mindset
Good knowledge of spoken and written English (at least B2). German is a nice to have.
