About the project
Based on his/her functional and technical expertise and background the Senior IT Manager SAP Finance manages tasks and projects in the field of the IT support of our finance processes and will take an active part in the S/4 HANA transformation of Lufthansa Group.
The focus is on standard SAP ERP FI (AR, AP, GL and adjacent SAP modules), SAP CO and on customer developed solutions in the SAP environment, both SAP ERP & S/4 HANA.
The Senior IT Manager SAP Finance is entrusted with projects in the functional area of Finance IT. He/she assumes responsibility for project delivery within an agreed time and budget. Based on his/her knowledge the Senior IT Manager SAP Finance manages (international) projects from first conceptual ideas to production rollout. He/she coordinates all relevant parties and stakeholders inside and outside the LGBS organization. He/she instructs the assigned staff functionally.
Furthermore he/she will complement the LGBS Finance IT team in Germany with his/her skills and knowledge in coordinating and solving operational issues and upcoming functional requirements within the SAP Finance landscape. In this role he/she will work in close cooperation with all relevant internal and external parties (e.g., Process Management, Operations, IT Providers).
Your responsibilities
Application/SAP System Management:
• Manage applications and services within the SAP landscape with focus on SAP ERP FI/CO and S/4 HANA Finance
• Contribute to upcoming activities related to S/4 HANA transformation (IT landscape definition, data migration, testing)
• Ensure a smooth operation of the Finance IT applications for LGBS and its worldwide LH Group customers in close cooperation with the LGBS Finance IT team members in Germany as well as the contracted service providers
• One of focus areas are treasury related IT applications
• Support and consult internal LGBS business units and customers in LH group in IT related issues in the field of Finance
• Design and implement new applications within the Finance IT landscape
• Monitor interfaces and automated processes regarding integrity, performance and optimal usage ensuring a smooth and stable IT support for the Finance processes offered by LGBS
• Derive technical and conceptual measures from the monitoring analysis, plan and implement the same in direct interaction with Customer, Finance IT team and service providers
• Customize the supported applications according to technical and/or business needs, coordination of test activities and ongoing documentation of the supported solutions
• Handle Incidents and Change Requests
• Drive automation and digitization in Finance IT and the supported processes
• Self-driven collaboration within the team
IT Product Management:
• Act as product manager for selected IT applications, including budget and controlling functions
• Manage the lifecycle of IT products and ensure alignment to IT strategy and IT architecture guidelines
Project Management:
• Manage and support projects in the field of Finance IT (e.g., international roll-out of solutions, IT harmonization projects, implementation of new functionalities)
• Support customer projects and internal projects in terms of project planning and execution
• And other tasks defined by Supervisor
Our requirements
- Graduation and University Degree (Business Administration, Business IT, IT or similar studies)
- +5 years of practical experience in supporting and managing SAP applications in the Finance environment
- Experience in customizing and conceptual design of SAP solutions
- Good understanding of financial data flows and processes
- SAP FI (AP, AR, GL, FI-AA, etc.) preferably also adjacent SAP modules (e.g., CO)
- Project management
- IT demand management, process management, service management
- PC usage literacy (MS office, IT self-service)
- IT Shared Services experience
- IT infrastructure experience
- English language (both oral and written)
- Required Soft Skills
- Planning and organizational talent, analytical skills and accuracy
- Strong conceptual skills, problem solving competence
- Flexibility, cultural competence, entrepreneurship
- Capability to define precisely complex situations and issues
- Distinctive written and oral communication capability, representation ability
- Willingness to learn and to pick up new topics
- German language will be an asset
