Senior IT Professional – Bioinformatics Software Engineer
Working place: Poznań

As a Senior IT Professional – Bioinformatics Software Engineer your responsibility is data analytics from genome sequencing. You work closely with Business Partners and developers in global teams including Poland, San Francisco, and Basel. You share knowledge with scientists, business analysts and developers about bioinformatics. You participate in our internal workshops and sharing knowledge sessions - Bioinformatics Community of Practice. You support research activities in genomics and cancer exploration. Together with your team, you are also responsible for support of various areas like Clinical Trials, Diagnostics, and Early Stage Drug Development.

You bring:

  • At least 3 years of scientific programming experience (R, Python, Matlab, etc.) and familiarity with bioinformatics tools commonly used in genomics.
  • Knowledge about clustering, data classification, feature selection, predictive analysis, etc.
  • Understanding of biological concepts and experimental methods commonly used in molecular biology and interest to learn more
  • Ability to develop and implement new problem-tailored analytical algorithms
  • A Ph.D. degree in bioinformatics, biology, biophysics, computer science or other related disciplines, familiarity with good software development practices (version control, testing, documentation) and oncology area background and laboratory experience is a plus
