Leading the financial reporting sub function for France and its branches in Continental Europe.
Running the production and review of all financial reporting deliverables of the continental Europe, including IFRS, FINREP, GSIBs reporting, etc. The deliverables encompass: P&L, actual and average balance sheet, off-balance sheet, inter-company, IFRS 9 credit reporting, etc.
Managing medium sized team including hiring, performance/talent management, succession planning and reward and recognition.
Reviewing monthly/quarterly reporting packs and disclosures including the investigation of relevant variances.
Reviewing, analyzing and providing commentary on the notes to the financial statements.
Developing an in depth understanding of technical accounting and reporting requirements, covering P&L, On and Off-Balance Sheet and Credit (IFRS 9 reporting).
Completing detailed analysis over complex data sets and driving remediation activities.
Understanding complex systems and data flows between systems.
Supporting senior stakeholders in the review and sign-off of monthly/quarterly deliverables.
Maintaining a strong control environment, including the management of SOX controls and coordinating reviews by Assurance and auditors.
Supporting Finance Change on ad hoc projects and their impact on financial reporting deliverables.
Supporting the external and Internal Audits and provide relevant information on time.
Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, etc.), with strong technical accounting and reporting skills.
Experience in running dual reporting processes- IFRS and Local GAAP.
Experience in medium size reporting teams with multiple stakeholders.
Experience facing off to Senior Stakeholders.
Experience of a range of businesses and operational processes across the breadth of the financial services market.
Experience working in relevant environments, i.e. financial, regulatory reporting experience required.
Skilled in handing and controlling operational data and complex data sets (MS Excel).
Strong ability to anticipate, identify and mitigate risks and apply appropriate controls over Reporting processes.
Excellent analytical and problem solving skills and experience of translating data into meaningful analysis.
Familiarity with Saracen, FTP and other financial systems is desirable but not essential.
Ability to identify and implement change and challenge the status quo.
French Language is mandatory.
French GAAP knowledge is preferable.

Global Finance Operations (GFO) provides a variety of financial support services to business partners across the HSBC Group. The role is based in the Global Finance Centre in Krakow, Poland. The Centre is supporting the development of the businesses across the European region. The Centre covers all finance functions including Business Finance, Financial Control and Systems.
The Financial Accounting team is responsible for all financial reporting both in IFRS and local GAAP for Continental Europe entities. The scope of reporting is very large – IFRS, FINREP, GSIB, VIR, local French Financial reporting and statistical reports. The team also contributes to HBCE and subsidiaries annual reports. It is connected with Businesses, Risk and Finance teams to understand drivers of the activity and operations. The team is involved in Business and systems changes projects to assess impact in Financial reporting and participate to implementation.
