You manage a spend of up to £45m by creating comprehensive global sourcing strategies, operating with a truly global and strategic mindset
You build strategic relationships with a network of senior GSK global stakeholders, to understand business requirements, identify opportunities to create value and to position Procurement’s value proposition. Align sourcing strategies accordingly
You create compelling business cases for change and obtain approval to execute from GSK Supply Chain and/or other support functions (Finance, HR) senior management, and to agree how benefit delivery will be budgeted
You deliver global benefits identified in strategies through effective strategy execution, aligned to assurance of supply (risk management), compliance, quality, service, cost and innovation
You engage stakeholders, Finance and other relevant functions in the sourcing strategy delivery and execution
You build strategic relationships with key suppliers at a senior level and lead processes to ensure value is driven from these relationships Ensure BU considerations are accounted for in supplier relationships.
You lead and direct category team within scope of responsibility
You build the organizational capabilities necessary to implement GSK strategy, now and in the future.
You ensure appropriate communication strategy is in place and in use within the relevant Procurement and business customer networks.
Develops strategic sourcing strategies for a defined portfolio
Requires high cultural awareness
Plans, leads and oversees negotiations
Build and delivers a Procurement strategy across portfolio or Region/Sub-Region
Creates and implements Procurement initiatives/strategies which improve quality of service and supply and produce significant cost savings across business units or supply networks
Knows and utilises complex business processes in all GSK supplier transactions, including all risk/regulatory/compliance requirements
Understands and business partners the customer group in order to deliver relevant strategic procurement solutions
Leads, manages and develops a team of procurement managers to facilitate delivery of the primary role purpose described above
Master’s degree in Supply Chain, Science, Business, Finance
Significant experience in procurement, leading teams
Subject matter expertise in procurement area of Glass Material for manufacturing
Highly developed business acumen with demonstrated success in delivering a multi-year strategy ensuring competitive commercial advantage
To be able to Build powerful network with Key (Senior) Stakeholders in order to agree and progress procurement strategies in line with Business requirements.
To be able to interact with VP / SVP / GM level
Demonstrated ability to forge close business relationships with internal and external stakeholders at all management levels
Requires significant external supplier and market knowledge of Pharma and/or Biotechnology
Skilled negotiator adept at leading complex negotiations with both external and internal stakeholders
Good understanding of market drivers effecting category; strong commitment to keeping abreast of trends
Finely honed project and change management skills
In depth understanding of latest tools for executing sourcing strategies including digital tools
Clear understanding business value, business priorities, and potential implementation risks
Experience managing the delivery of large projects and with end-to-end service / operations management
Strong analytical, written and verbal communication skills

As a Category Manager will have responsibility for vials and components , and reports into Director – Glass categories. The role interacts with senior stakeholders in the supply chain and directly covers up to £45m in spend.
