Your responsibilities

  • Supporting the Wholesale COO and functions globally and regionally in the impact assessment as part of the roll out to updated procedure
  • Provide guidance relating to the interpretation of HSBC global and local CDD policies and regulatory guidelines in relation to both global and country level policies
  • Engaging and maintaining a significant number of relationships within the Wholesale COO teams, supporting functions and compliance to provide input into the Impact Assessment process, globally and regionally
  • Oversee the management and impact assessment and operationalization of country level addenda over and above HSBC Group Policy standards
  • Coordinate impact assessments for changes, engaging appropriate SMEs and ensuring the POMO framework is adhered to which will provide clear and consistent guidance to impacted areas to implement
  • As part of the Impact assessment provide feedback on items for review and challenge back to Risk Owners in relation to the operational feasibility of proposed local and global policy and standards changes
  • Coordination of data gathering and analysis from all impacted / relevant areas and stakeholders to input into transformation team where required
  • Engagement with relevant transformation teams alongside the implementation support lead to ensure completed impact assessments are shared and executed through implementation and adoption
  • Ensure that all proposed procedure changes, which are deemed to be “material” have gone through appropriate Local/Regional Risk/Control Owner consultation, with adequate time provided for review and all feedback addressed
  • Draft procedures taking input from the Global/Regional/Local Risk/Control Owner and other subject matter experts (SMEs) in their global business or function
  • Draft procedures consistently, clearly and concisely by applying the content and style principles in line with POMO guidance and principles
  • Ensure that all procedure requirements whose key purpose is to mitigate the occurrence of one or more risks to the business/function are mapped (and linked in the [Policy/Procedure Management System])
  • Ensure that appropriate justification is provided in the [Policy/Procedure Management System] for any Procedure Requirements for which no such mapping and linking exist
  • Work alongside Functional SME's to develop appropriate guidance, which serves to aid interpretation and practical application of the relevant procedure (where necessary). It must NOT introduce new mandatory requirements over and above those set out in the main procedure document
  • Review the proposed new procedures or changes to existing procedures, including those drafted outside of POMO, to ensure that they align to Acrolinx guidance (tool)
  • Ensure that procedure / procedure changes have been drafted by the Procedure Writer with an appropriate amount of subject matter expert input
  • Uses functional/ specialist expertise and knowledge of editorial standards and practices to effectively draft or amend procedures
  • Adds to organisational efficiency by considering both internal and external options and best practice when partnering with relevant stakeholders to review and critique procedural updates, challenging and riving change as appropriate
  • Visibly champions change yielding positive impact, innovation and simplification
  • Ability to deliver to demanding timescales whilst maintaining excellent standards and attention to detail, in a fast changing environment
  • Excellent level of negotiation and influencing skills
  • Ability to interpret requirements and complexities from all inputting areas
  • Demonstrates an extensive understanding of Groups Risk Management approach, Global Standards Manual and FIM, taking responsibility for ensuring that they are interpreted and understood consistently across POMO and wider Wholesale COO structure
