Your responsibilities
Support with the end-to-end formulation and implementation of the overall regional risk Governance Structure and engaging with key senior management stakeholders.
Assist with key risk management meetings/ non-executive risk committee processes.
Support strategic evaluation of the Bank’s risk profile through independent delivery of the Top and Emerging Risks and Risk Map.
Drive the co-ordination of the end-to-end process for the Interim Report (IR) and the Annual Report and Accounts (ARA) processes for the region.
Support the implementation of the Risk Appetite Framework and supporting the development, articulation and monitoring of the Regional Risk Appetite Statement.
Conduct regular assurance activities for Risk Appetite Statements within the scope of the Region. This will encompass providing guidance and support to sites, undertaking a bi-annual review of the Risk Appetite Statement, and undertaking regular review and challenge of the risk appetite profile.
Support embedding, integration with enterprise risk management tools and the development and implementation of other global initiatives. This will involve regular communication with functions and Global Business.
Our requirements
Degree or advanced degree in Quantitative, Finance or Business discipline.
Detailed understanding of the risks associated with the full set of HSBC’s products and services.
Strong stakeholder management skills and proven experience in working with multiple stakeholders, including senior management.
Good understanding of HSBC overall business dynamics and culture.
Experience of leading the development, implementation, and communication of evolving quantitative techniques in a challenging and changing regulatory and risk environment.
Proven leadership skills and the ability to exercise leadership.
Proven experience of discussing complex analytical subjects with non-technical internal and external counterparts.
Advanced understanding of regulatory developments and supervisory practices, experience in dealing with regulators.

About the role
Role holder acts under the guidance of the Regional Head of Risk Strategy along with Global Head of Risk Appetite, to whom matters of fundamental significance will be referred.
Role holder will also need to consult and seek support from Global Businesses, Risk and Finance locally, regionally and on occasions globally, across HSBC to ensure successful implementation of the framework.
Role holder must also be the subject matter expert in risk appetite and adopt all regulatory and Group standards and policies, including understanding of forward-looking regulation and its impact on the bank. The role-holder is a member of the relevant local and global working groups.
