Join us as a Senior Manager  – Transfer Agency (Multiple Teams)

As the Senior Manager in Transfer Agency team, you will be managing several teams – Cash Processing, Special Handling, Shareholder Services, and the Trailer Fees team.  Additionally, you will also be partnering with other senior leaders across the global organization to ensure our suite of products and services are aligned to meet BBH’s client service goals and objectives.

As a qualified candidate you will apply deep functional expertise, leadership, initiative, creativity, and management skills to successfully meet the tactical and strategic business objectives.  In addition, you should demonstrate excellent client communication and relationship skills to enable the group to maintain high quality service standards. As the teams deal heavily with cash payments to settle transactons, the position will require a strong risk mindset to ensure the appropriate controls and processes are in place in order to protect the firm and the client from exposure to fraud and errors. The candidate will need to promote and build risk awareness among team members and colleagues.

This is a highly visible role where you will have an impact to BBH’s position in the global custody business by delivering a measurably superior Transfer Agency product and service that executes at the highest levels. In addition you will provide pro-active thought leadership and expertise to our colleagues and to existing and prospective clients.

Some of your key responsibilities include:

  • Effectively manage a team of 30+ employees
  • Ensure the smooth, effective operation of the department including: proper product delivery, proper escalation and resolution of high exposure items, maintaining the proper balance of cost, control and client service
  • Liaise with division executives to ensure that the teams are properly aligned with the division strategy, goals and objectives and have the information and tools necessary to succeed.
  • Manage and implement controls effectively to alleviate any areas of potential risk. Take remedial action to prevent errors and near misses from recurring.
  • Act as the senior point of escalation for the team and other Divisions for any Service Delivery related issues and proactively manage the resolution process with frequent updates and satisfaction measures
  • Provide analysis of complex issues and create new processes, systems or products/services for multiple functions or disciplines..
  • Implement and maintain KPIs and other management tools to determine the team's performance and ability to meet volume and accuracy standards
  • Identify trends and assess the capabilities of the teams to meet market requirements.
  • Conduct client visits, presentations and walkthroughs
  • Assist Department Head with ongoing project management and act as a professional voice for the department and firm as a whole.
  • Oversee the supervision of staff members through appropriate recruiting, training, performance management, and succession planning.
  • Participate in salary and bonus planning for the department
  • Realize team efficiencies through increased automation and organize workflows
  • Foster an innovative atmosphere where staff feel comfortable raising ideas; provide guidance and assistance to colleagues in the analysis and, if appropriate, implementation of ideas.

Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of professional experience in either Transfer Agency, Wire Transfers or in an Operational Department
  • At least 5 years of progressive management experience in a fast paced environment
  • Mature leader with ability to coach, develop and motivate employeesTrack record of streamlining processes and adding controls to mitigate risk
  • Able to deliver excellent service that meets client expectations for accuracy, timeliness and responsiveness.
  • Able to ensure necessary controls are in place to prevent issues/problems. Identifies and escalates problems immediately.
  • Communicates effectively with peers, management and clients.  Effectively leads meetings and exhibits confidence with clients and senior leadership.
  • Track record of building effective relationships with global peers and influencing key stakeholders in order to drive positive change.
  • Can identify and addresses gaps and opportunities in process improvement, customer service or product development.
