Twój zakres obowiązków
This is a new role within Melett Poland in which you will conduct reverse engineering and New Product Development of aftermarket turbochargers and their component parts for the wider Melett group.
Initially on starting the role you will lead the introduction and setup of an Engineering function within our Poland facility. Reporting to the Group Head of Engineering and working in collaboration with the UK Engineering team, you will be directly responsible for the setup of the Poland Engineering function. This will include the setting up of all systems, processes, acquisition of capital and revenue equipment, Engineering workshop and recruitment of Engineers.
This is an extremely diverse role that will appeal to an ambitious Engineer who is looking for rapid career development and the opportunity to shape their working Environment. After completing the department setup and being the sole engineer in the Poland facility, the role will be hands on covering all aspects of the reverse Engineering process and will in include travel to the UK head office.
As you expand the team your role will evolve into leading the team and developing the Poland Engineering function.
INITIAL TASKS
- Setup the Melett Poland Engineering function – With UK Engineering support
- Recruitment of Development engineer/s
- Implementation of appropriate systems, controls and reporting procedures
GENERAL TASKS
-Complete New product development projects as allocated from the UK project manager
- Management of Melett Poland New product developments
- Supervision and development of the Poland engineering team
- Reporting departmental performance to the UK Engineering Management team
- Resource performance management including individual employee skills development
- Ongoing management of the departments performance including reporting and attainment of the department’s KPI’s
- Management of the department’s equipment including measurement machines and computer equipment
- Leadership of the engineering team including drawing practices, design, development, measurements & testing as necessary to support product verification and validation requirements
- Ensuring all designs/drawings/specifications/documentation is produced in a timely manner and to the required quality levels
- Plan and execute product testing to complete the design verification and product validation elements as identified within the NPD process.
- Ensure Engineering resources maintain project information using Melett’s NPD database
- Provide Engineering support for Poland sales and technical teams
- Follow company processes and procedures
Nasze wymagania
QUALIFICATIONS:
Qualified to Degree level in an associated Engineering discipline or extensive experience in Engineering NPD within the automotive industry
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
- A background in Engineering design and product development
- Experience of New Product Development including design, verification & validation
- Experience in the design on precision assemblies
- Knowledge of precision measurement and general engineering principles
- Experience of implementing appropriate controls to direct, measure and adjust operations as required to meet the New Product Development requirements of the business
- Excellent communication skills
- Commercial awareness
- Passion for product development/R&D
- Leader and team player who recognises the importance of his team and the wider business team
- Excellent people management skills
Essential
- Fluent English language - written and spoken
- Excellent hands on experience of 3D CAD, ideally Solid Works
- Hands on experience of product design and development
- Understanding and application of design for manufacture and assembly
- Practical application of precision measurement/GD&T and general engineering principles
- Good understanding of following product quality processes
