About the project

You will be a key member of the European IT infrastructure team with accountability for delivering network and security services to support Information Technology projects. This position will take an active hands on role delivering Information Technology networking initiatives and business projects. The role is part of the European network engineer team delivering operational excellence across all European network services.

Your responsibilities

  • Use your technical expertise and hands on skills to lead network projects for Acxiom and our customers

  • Communicate project status, performance reports & service status to stakeholders

  • Design, configuration and implementation of new network and security services

  • Clearly document network and security solutions, environments and services at HLD and LLD level

  • Participate when required as a member of the internal Architecture Review Board for network solution proposals

  • Provide subject matter expertise on Enterprise network and security technologies

  • Remain informed on trends and issues in the industry, including current and emerging network and security technologies. Advise, counsel, and educate executive and engineering teams on their relative importance

  • Provide training and knowledge transfer to the team to widen their technical skills and understanding of new technologies

  • Support sales and consultative activities within Acxiom and with Acxiom's clients

  • Participate in network infrastructure capacity planning

  • Perform incident management and fault resolution

  • Adhere to change control and internal best practices and procedures

  • Provide on-call/maintenance window support for all European network systems

Our requirements

  • Degree educated or relevant work experience (5+ years’ experience)

  • Highly experienced in implementing and supporting Cisco solutions - preferably CCNP or higher. Experience of Nexus data centre/enterprise level networking essential (UCS would be a bonus)

  • Highly experienced in implementing and supporting Palo Alto firewalls and load balancing technology

  • Strong knowledge of network security

  • Ability to work with all levels of an organisation from senior stakeholders through to technical project teams

  • Good communications to work in cross-functional teams with diverse and global cultures

  • Ability to clearly document technical environments and solutions

  • Flexibility to working hours

  • Self-driven learning in the technologies utilised by Acxiom


  • Used to working in high pressured environments

  • Preferably data centre environment

  • Good knowledge of vrtualisation e.g. VMware

  • Good knowledge of AWS networking

  • Understanding of Industry Compliance and Regulations such as ISO27001, PCI-DSS and the Data Protection Act

  • Experience of networking in a Cloud Platform

  • Experiene of Meraki solutions
